My son been here for over a year and he loves it, he lights up when he sees all the therapist, and doesn’t wanna leave when I pick him up. I’m so happy I chose this place for my son they truly work with you with scheduling, and understanding if things come up and having to cancel / etc. my son has showed signs of approvements since being here, I wouldn’t recommend any other place except here! They show a lot of compassion for the kids, and truly seem happy to be here I am grateful all they have done & worked with our family when going through tough times , and doing the best for my son. Thank you 💛

My children have come to essential skills for 13 months! Today they graduated!!!! To say seeing this Milestone has been the greatest reward and blessing. From very early on i struggled to find speech therapy for my son even while both of my children were receiving therapy at another place. I was desperate and crying when Mrs. Emily answered the phone. I could immediately feel the relief. My son was 2 yrs old and could not speak and my daughter was 5 yrs old and struggling even though she had been in OT for 2 yrs getting a feather rubbed against her arm for tolerating. Yet she couldn't complete daily tasks without her skin crawling. Dr. Logan Detweiler and Mrs. Amanda came into our lives and he truly changed our norm! Ms. Alyssa went straight to work with my son and now he speaks fluently in his dialect Patois, and English and he is able to conversate! To reiterate we were 2 parents desperately trying to meet the needs of our children and what felt like failure we were met WITH THE ESSENTIAL SKILLS we needed! My children have behavioral struggles and each therapist always treated our children their client with the upmoat respect and compassion! This team is The BEST OF THE BEST! IF YOU HAVE THE PRIVILEGE OF COMING HERE YOU WILL NOT REGRET! I APPRECIATE YOU SO MUCH Mrs. Leslie for continuing to change the community around you!!!! You all have changed our lives for the best and I truly couldn't be more appreciative. Thank you so much for ALL YOU HAVE DONE!!!! ❤️ WE LOVE YOU AND APPRECIATE YOU! LOVE ALWAYS, THE HAMILTON'S

I regret taking my son here. The staff at this place is horrible. My 3 year old autistic child needs speech and OT. It takes my son time to adjust and trust other people that is not family. Every time he will go in for speech Ms Alyssa suggested that she should grab my son so he can get use to her. But he refused to be touch by someone one else and kept insisting. My son will throw himself on the floor and all she says let him cry let it be. My son is very attach to his sister and he will prefer for her to go in. And my daughter sees it all on how she kept grabbing him when he didn’t want to. I as a parent told upper staff leslie that I will prefer for us to walk him in until he starts building trust. When it was time for OT staff Amanda let my son cry in a corner. I do understand that kids need to learn structure but not in that manner. Because my son went to a corner to cry she removed the pillows that he wanted to hide from and he rolled over a bang himself on the wall. My son started to cry really bad and Amanda didn’t bother to help him. I had to pin my daughter phone because my son was crying a lot. When it was time to leave Amanda didn’t even had the audacity to look at me in the face and walked away. All they say is let them cry let them cry they will get over it. Last week i went in with my son and the whole entire hour my son cried and cried hiding and Alyssa said let him be he will grow out of it. I dislike the fact that whole hour he didnt receive therapy. I feel like they don’t know how to treat kids that has autism and just want to jump to conclusions. I don’t recommend this place. U guys knew I had surgery so no need for the attendance part when it only one day. My son didnt felt comfortable in this place.

My son has been receiving services here since December. He sees Miss Stephanie for speech and Mr. Logan for OT. I can't recommend this place enough for several reasons. Here are just a few: - My son loves coming here. - His therapists are great at communicating with me about what is done during his sessions. This is especially helpful so I can try to reinforce what his therapists are doing with him. - He's been there long enough that the "honeymoon period" is over and they continue to show him the same kindness, compassion, and patience as they did on Day 1. - We had an insurance issue and Leslie and Emily were so patient and helpful as it got resolved. Like I said, these are just a few reasons. I would definitely recommend Essential Skills.

Definitely recommend. Safe and inviting environment and my sons needs are being met with kindness and patience. His speech therapist Stephanie maintains a friendly and open line of communication with me and extremely helpful with suggestions on how to promote further communication practices at home. My son’s communicative speech and clarity has improved vastly over his time with her. Also, I love that the office maintains a calm setting for their students. Quiet front lobby area included. 10/10
