For The Love Of Therapy

I have been working with Shauna for over 3 years, and she is a wonderful provider. I have worked with many therapists for decades and in our work my mental health has changed dramatically. She is diversely skilled and knowledgeable, and has a spirit that supports empowerment. Her intuition and empathy have supported me on a path of self discovery that changed my life and allowed me to step into my authenticity and confidence as a mom and professional. She has helped support my son as well in navigating transition and trauma. I recommend her to anyone, especially women and children experiencing neurodiversity and trauma. She’s a rare and unique gem in the mental health care profession.

My daughter started seeing Shauna about a year and a half ago. Prior to this, she would not discuss feelings at all with me. She hated therapists. We had been through three of them before meeting with Shauna. My daughter responded to Shauna right away. She knows how to make children feel comfortable and seen. Shauna was able to teach my daughter many different ways to cope with the feelings and situations that happen from day today. In the process, my daughter was able to learn to talk about her emotions more freely. Shauna was instrumental in helping us to create our 504 plan and teaching us to advocate for my daughter‘s needs. Shauna understands neurodivergence and was able to help us to better understand it as well. In doing so, she helped us all relate to each other better as a family. Shauna strikes a good balance between having fun and doing hard work. My daughter looks forward to going to therapy now, which is something I never thought I would say. We love Shauna!

I have been seeing Shauna since 2022. She has helped me navigate a lot of deep trauma work and I greatly appreciate her honesty and insight. She gives me homework and I always feel supported, seen, and heard. There have been times where I took a break because I have a lot of childhood trauma that can be exhausting to work through, but she always remembers where we were when we pick back up. I know I would not be here without her aid and guidance through some of the worst moments of my life.

Shauna has been a positive influence in my life. I have found her very easy to work with. She is insightful and easy to talk to.

Shauna is fabulous. She has worked with my kids and foster kids. She engages the kids and gets them to open up. After therapy she will debrief with me on what kids might need. She has a lot of ideas and fun ways to get stress out (think throwing imaginary fire balls in the backyard when one kid felt mad). She also suggested different items that could help like a weighted blanket, sensory body sock, exercise balls or stretch bands for restlessness. We love Shauna!!!

Shauna has been my therapist for quite a while, she is always helping me understand how I'm feeling and what to do about struggles I face as a queer and disabled person. She is a great therapist!
