My daughter was here 10 years ago. She still has the scar on the face from were a staff pushed her into a wall. The mark on her finger from another staff person slammed her finger in the door, partially amputating it. She was 7 years old. I will never understand the cruelty allowed to happen at these types of places. She will be 18 in 30 days and still won't speak about everything that happened here. This place and others like it should be closed, it doesn't help kids. Only causes them trauma.

Everyone, please don't just write a Google review. Report them to the Ohio Department of Behavioral Health or even the HHS. It's clear that this place is run a certain way, always has been, and always will be. It's clear they don't learn and won't adjust how they treat patients. Ohio DBH has an online complaint page called "File a Complaint about a Provider", and the HHS Office for Civil Rights has one too called "Complaint Portal Assistant". Look up and fill out both. With enough reports, accountability is possible. Best of luck to you all!

I went to this place three times for refusing to go to school because I was being bullied, among undiagnosed neurodivergence and trauma-related behavioural issues I had as a child. All three times I was heavily mistreated by the staff members, and I never got the help I needed. If I said I wasn't feeling well, I was accused of lying or seeking attention. They finally took me seriously when I had a fever of 104.7°f and the nurses thought it was wise to pack me with ice instead of sending me to the hospital. They overdosed me on all my medications until I was sent into oculogyric crisis (a type of seizure where the eyes are stuck upwards) and even then, the staff accused of me faking it (particularly one staff member named Mrs. Reese). I wasn't the only one they did this to because I watched them frequently accuse a girl with epilepsy of faking her seizures for attention. They also enjoyed locking me in an empty room with white walls and a hard floor whenever I had panic attacks. And although it wasn't done to me in the 3 times I was sent there, I watched staff members restrain kids in a bent position with their arms pulled outwards, and so many of those kids would vomit or pass out. I was 10, 11, and 12 years old all three times I went there. I'm 18 years old now (as of 2018, editing this at the age of 25 to add more clarification). I'm diagnosed with CPTSD because that place (on top of already existing trauma from my life at home), and I still have mental and physical issues because of the medications they put me on. I would not suggest putting your child or teenager here. The favouritism is atrocious, the food is unhealthy, and the treatment alone is enough to send you spiralling into insanity. Two of the three times I went there, bed bugs were a major issue. Other patients at the facility would attack me without warning or reason. The staff would watch me use the bathroom and take a shower because I'd "take too long". My privacy was often violated by the staff members when it came to bathroom breaks and shower time. I've had staff members take away my belongings that I still haven't gotten returned to me to this day. Staff members who didn't like me would exaggerate my behaviours. For example; one of the patients there had pushed me while I was in line for breakfast. I pushed her back because she was right up against me and wouldn't back off (the staff wouldn't intervene and do anything about it), but the staff member in charge at the time claimed I had HIT the patient (again, Mrs Reese). This place is an absolute nightmare, and like I said; I still suffer from my experiences there.

My name is Tavon I would’ve stayed here around 2000 Thankfully I was adopted by a great man a few years later. I miss some of the kids I met through my time in this place and even hope they’re doing great in their lives now. There was one counselor and I believe the history teacher who made that place feel bearable. As kids we could tell that some of the staff were weird and didn’t care about us. They had a small concrete room that they would throw us in w a tiny window on the wall and a metal door. They would throw me in that room with the lights out anytime I got in trouble. I am now 31 years old I’m an army veteran & to this day I can not be in an enclosed space. I would scream and beg to be let out till I fell asleep or became too tired to fight. This is not a place for your children… beechbrook is not a place for your children

Don’t send your kids here unless you want them worse than when they came in. Mr.Ray was the only good thing about this place. He doesn’t deserve the abuse that he’s put through in this place

I was here from 2019-2020 and it was an awful experience. The staff were mostly cold and unhelpful, they would instigate, belittle, cuss, yell and threaten. I was bullied by lots of the girls and even hurt physically by them on occasion and most of the staff wouldn't intervene and would encourage the behavior. I went through a bout of psychosis during my stay and was constantly told by staff and other patients I was faking and encouraged the girls to bully me during this time. I barely got to speak to my parents anyway but my phone calls would be used as punishment, they would use anything against you. I feel like staff should be thoroughly evaluated because staff will make a huge impact on your stay/treatment. Staff telling you "well at least i get to go home tonight" "well I can see why your parents didn't want you" "your an awful child" "im not going to be surprised if your not released for a long time" "stop faking your shit" "i don't get paid enough for this" "is all really unhelpful to any of the patients here. Also being restrained to the point patients are puking and having accidents on themselves and laughing at them and making jokes is unacceptable. I left this facility with more trauma and ptsd than when I went it with due to the things I saw and experienced. I would never recommend this place or residentials in general most times they are not run well and staff and practices are awful.
