Mr James is the best! He's witty and makes sure my son can learn while still having fun. Highly recommend
My son loves it here. Very friendly and they go above and beyond both with my son and with making sure insurance covers the visits.
My child loves it here and can’t wait to come back every week! He’s starting to pronounce letters I have been working on with him for years.
The offices are bright and most of the staff seemed warm. They got us in quickly! Iit's clear that the owner takes pride in her work and is involved throughout the process.
I highly recommend Garrison City Speech! Sharilyn is a top tier therapist. Extremely patient, thoughtful and professional.
We recently had a speech therapy evaluation for our infant, and unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. While the therapist was nice, from the start, she seemed disorganized and openly acknowledged that she doesn't typically evaluate babies my child’s age. This set the tone for a visit that didn’t feel tailored to our concerns or our baby’s specific needs. When we brought up our concerns about excessive coughing on saliva, the therapist dismissed it as “normal,” even though both our pediatrician and our myofunctional therapist have said otherwise. When we described his true aspiration events where he is unable to breathe and needs back thrusts to clear the milk or saliva (not just "coughing") she seemed puzzled and said, "but does he turn blue though?" She ultimately blamed the feeding position we follow (side-lying breast and bottle feeding as recommended by our lactation consultant due to a physical disability). She also criticized some of the recommendations we've received from a therapist we've seen at a different office. Overall, we didn’t feel heard or supported during the appointment. There was a noticeable disconnect between what we were expressing and how it was received. We left the visit feeling more confused than helped, and we’ll be seeking another opinion elsewhere with someone more experienced in infant feeding and swallowing concerns.
Bright welcoming environment. We love everyone here from the receptionists to all the Speech Pathologists. Especially Morgan!!! We have been coming for 2.5 years and my daughter has made amazing strides during this time. She loves seeing her "talking teacher" every week. Our time with Garrison City Speech and Language is coming to an end and when I broke the news to my daughter she replied, "no, I think I'll keep seeing Morgan until I am 10! (She is 6 now!) 100% recommend Garrison City Speech and Language! We will miss them once we graduate!
Absolutely fantastic experience with Garrison Speech! My son has been seeing Sabrina for over a year, I can’t express enough how much she has made a difference in my son’s speech development. From the very first session, it was clear that she genuinely cares about her clients and their progress. She takes the time to listen, understand individual needs, and tailors each session accordingly. She has truly given him a voice. What sets her apart is not just her expertise, but her warm and encouraging approach. Every session is positive, productive, and filled with meaningful progress. She knows how to make each exercise feel engaging, which has made a huge difference in keeping my son motivated and excited to come back. Christine, the receptionist, has gone above and beyond when it comes to dealing with insurance and ensuring everyone gets the correct coverage. Her communication and attention to detail is superb and always has a smile on her face when we open the door. I can’t recommend Garrison Speech enough to anyone seeking therapy. Whether it's for a child, an adult, or anyone in between, their expertise, kindness, and dedication has an incredible impact.
Our son has been working with Priscilla at Garrison City Speech & Language Services for a couple months. We've had a great experience so far. She's able to "read the room" and find ways to keep him engaged, happy, and motivated. We've already seen an improvement in his speech, and feel more confident in our ability to make progress at home as well. Christine, the administrative assistant, makes the registration etc. a breeze so that you're able to begin therapy quickly. She was also able to talk to our health insurance and very clearly explain our coverage. This is invaluable.
