Worst people to work with scheduled my child without even telling me thankfully I kept calling then when they finally told me I was already scheduled it was on days I could make I had to take off work keep my kid out of school and than on the day we are supposed to go they sent an email saying it over Google meet one day and than in person for 3 days I thankfully I caught it and called because I would of drove all the way there for nothing and missed the meeting and than would have had to wait months to be scheduled again. If you have no choice but to go through them you have to call them every day and don't even get me started on all the paperwork they give it's 100 pages long literally. Please save yourself problems and go somewhere else if you can if I could give 0 stars I would!
Very professional Staff , so friendly. The Dr Gaspar is such a great Person and very good Professional. We a really appreciate his hard work with our Son
My son has been on their waitlist for over 2 years. After the first 6 months I reached out for an update. I couldn’t get through and no one responded to my emails until finally 8 months after my son’s initial referral. Ackerman stated that they needed more information from me so I uploaded it to my son’s portal and also sent it all via email. I reached out 6 months later and no answer. I had to go through my son’s pediatrician and he told me to keep calling and leaving messages. We did… finally 2 years and 2 months later my son’s pediatrician told us to call again and also email them. We tried calling, again, NO answer, NO return calls. I sent an email and no response. MY SON AND MY FAMILY NEED ANSWERS SO WE reached out to Neurospectrum Diagnostic and paid the out of pocket fee. They were able to see us the very next week! Ackerman finally returned my email 5 days after I paid a non refundable payment to neurospectrum. They told me I had to reach out to my pediatrician and have him update my son’s referral because they didn’t have him in the system!! I’M FURIOUS! we already moved on and paid another center but this email response was frustrating. They corrected themselves after I asked for someone higher in the system to reach out to me. They found his referral I guess because now they constantly keep calling to schedule my sons appointment! After 2 years and 2 months. This shouldn’t be the “norm” for children that need services. My son was diagnosed with high functioning autism from Neurospectrum Diagnostic. I would never recommend Ackerman Center.
My child’s Dr referred us here. After filling out paperwork and submitting it, the staff “misplaced “ my Drivers license and Insurance card. So it was floating around somewhere. They had to make another copy. After all of that filling out that thick packet and them making new copies of my personal info… I had to continue to call and check on his status too… All to be told that it’s a 2-3 YEAR wait… I was speechless. Do not wait. Take your child elsewhere. We as people need help with our children now. Not later…
We had an amazing experience with Elizabeth Wilkes, FNP-BC, APRN, at the Grant a Gift Autism Foundation – Ackerman Center. She was kind, knowledgeable, and incredibly supportive. She answered all of our questions, helped us feel at ease, and gave us the confidence that we’re doing the right things for our grandson. Elizabeth also provided helpful resources and referrals to support our journey. We are so grateful for her compassion and expertise — truly a blessing to our family!
This may be a bit long, but I want to speak from the heart and be completely honest in my review of the Ackerman Center and the incredible people there. My little granddaughter is a client, and while my daughter has already shared her thoughts, I accompany them often enough that I feel compelled to offer my own perspective. Like some others, my initial experience with the front office wasn’t a positive one. It felt unprofessional, and I left that first visit concerned. However, I brought the issue to the attention of a few individuals, and since then, I haven’t encountered a single problem. In fact, everything has only improved—and in the most meaningful ways. Dr. Beasley was a beacon of hope during our granddaughter’s assessment. Her compassion, professionalism, and reputation gave us complete confidence that our sweet girl was in the very best hands. When she recommended speech therapy with Christine Sterner and occupational therapy with Jessica Pierson, we trusted her completely—and we are so glad we did. Christine and Jessica have been nothing short of extraordinary. We are nearing the end of our therapy journey now, and I can truly say that they have helped our granddaughter blossom in ways we never imagined. They haven’t just worked with her; they’ve worked with us—taking the time to explain, to listen, to reassure, and to offer thoughtful guidance we could carry into our everyday lives. Their warmth, kindness, and deep professionalism have made a lasting impact on all of us. I also want to recognize Michelle at the front desk, who took the time to get to know our granddaughter personally. She always offers a kind word and a warm smile that lights up my granddaughter’s face. And Anthony—though I don’t know his official title—has become such a special person to her. She seeks him out every time we visit, and without fail, he makes her feel seen, valued, and loved. His genuine joy when interacting with her has touched us all. While our first impression may not have been ideal, the love, care, and dedication we've received since then have far outweighed that moment. I honestly cannot express how much this team has meant to us. Their expertise, their patience, and most of all, their heart, have helped shape a brighter future for a child who means the world to us. From the bottom of my heart—thank you. I will never forget what each of you has done for our family.
I have been waiting for a response for 2 years, 1 year ago I gave them everything they asked for, I call all the time and they never answer, only the answering machine, I leave messages and they never return the call, it is truly disappointing to never get answers from them.
