Great Basin Behavioral Health

I can’t say enough great things about the therapists at Great Basin. They really go the extra mile in everything they do. The admin staff are awesome too. Sure, there are some frustrated people leaving unnecessary bad reviews after no showing for an appointment… but the staff do a great job of letting all new clients know their policies and clarifying all of your questions every step of the way. The important thing is they do great work, five stars all the way, I highly recommend them!

HUNDREDS of dollars if for any reason you cannot make an appointment or change it in time?! And they will automatically make appointments FOR YOU then charge when you don’t show for an appointment that was never confirmed. Ridiculous. Especially for a mental health facility. Why would it cost almost $300?! Not even as much as the original appointment costs in general. Send someone into a mental spiral charging them like that. You’ll need therapy after dealing with this place.

These people are shady and unwilling to work with people. They made me several appointments without my knowledge and charged my card for their absurd missed appointment fee.

I started going to Great Basin as me and my therapist of 3 years had to part ways due to my move. Edit: I was referred to this office by my last therapist, actually, as they take my insurance. I saw two therapists in about a 4 month period this spring. The first one I saw once and never again - I left feeling unsupported, misunderstood, and like I spent more time listening to the therapists problems than she listened to me. The second one was a brand new intern in training. She was kind but we quickly hit a plateau. She talked a lot about herself and not to the benefit to the experiences I was going through. She asked very few follow-up questions and brought no insight. As a young adult (22), I was placed with two therapists who didn’t seem to have a lot of experience in counseling adults. I also get the impression that the practice prioritized how quickly they could get me into ANY therapist’s books, rather than waiting for a quality therapist to be available who could better address my needs. And yes, they still have that bogus cancellation policy everyone left a review about.

I’m very impressed with how much effort this agency made helping my friend through some really difficult times. They really go the extra mile, I highly recommend them.

I am very thankful for the care and professionalism that I am receiving here. Everyone is great. I have been working with Lisa and my sessions have been very effective. I feel very supported and cared for.

I enjoyed my first visit today with my therapist Lindsay and the front desk staff are great!

Love being gaslit by my new therapist. I have to pay a 50 dollar fee that I can’t afford because I didn’t know telling my therapist I would be out of town two weeks in advance wouldn’t be enough as she didn’t inform me to tell the front desk. When I told the front desk about this after I called 27 hours in advance to reschedule, they told me I was lying as per my therapist and I would have to pay the fee. It should be noted that I got the notification that the appointment was still in effect yesterday (Sunday) while the office was closed and I called as soon as the office opened this morning to resolve the issue. Edit to add: I have a lot of trauma surrounding not being believed so this was extremely triggering for me. Therapy offices should be a place for working through this stuff. Not ripping it open and triggering your clients after one session. This felt very damaging to me.

I've had such a wonderful experience working with a therapist with GBBH via telehealth! Wish I had called them years ago!
