Shellie has been amazing with my son! Before finding Shellie we struggled finding a speech therapist that he wouldn’t shut down with. She understands him so much and I am so thankful for that. I love that she involves family in the speech session so you can continue to work on things. She is very patient, flexible, and truly cares about the progress her clients make. If something isn’t working she changes it up. I love that she makes us feel like family and not just another name on the list.

Shellie is great at what she does. She won't scare you with a diagnosis but instead walk you through it and will be optimistic the entire way, providing the resources and therapy your child needs.

Shellie is incredibly talented at making the necessary connections between parents and children to ensure optimal success with speech and language. While working with a wide range of ages and disabilities, she always provides the client with the direct, personalized therapy that is needed. After many years in clinics and speech offices, my 10yro daughter with autism finally started making tremendous gains in communication and behavior with Shellie. She is always flexible, ready and willing to try different approaches that work best for my child and always provides valuable knowledge and support to be carried over in the home setting. Highly recommend!

We had seen 3 different therapists in 3 years with little progress before we found Hear My Words. In just 6 short weeks working with Shellie, my son's articulation had improved tremendously--much more so than in the past 3 years! We love working with Shellie--she is very patient and very good at knowing exactly how to meet each individual speech need. She gives us drills to practice at home and cares very much about my child's progress. We are so glad we found her and would not want to see another therapist!

My grandson has been seeing Shellie Ikner for almost two years. He was diagnosed with a speech delay at approximately two years of age and saw another professional speech therapist before he began seeing Ms. Ikner. All I can say is "WOW!" His progress has been amazing. Shellie's knowledge of speech pathology is first rate. She has taken his experience from "point to the rabbit" from pictures on the table to a more creative approach with videos, creating stories by drawing and gives us tasks to practice at home so that his experience is continued to his next session.
