Comprehensive ABA therapy services tailored to your needs
Very thorough and comprehensive evaluation. Everyone involved was kind and supportive. Answered all of my questions. Gave me referrals in my area for the different services my child would need. Would highly recommend
I’m not a confrontational person, but I felt it necessary to write this review to save other families the grief we went through. I’ve been a Henry Ford patient for 39 years and I’ve never had a bad experience until now. My experience with CADD/Henry Ford Autism Center was a bad one. Sure, they were nice during the evaluation. But the afterwards is where it gets unprofessional. They will take pretty much any insurance, including Medicaid, for the assessment- but they don’t disclose that if your child needs any further services like ABA, PT, OT, etc you may be left in the cold. I asked during the evaluation if they had ABA we’d be able to participate in, they said yes (they had our insurance on record and could’ve been honest and told us we wouldn’t be covered.) In the follow-up meeting it was explained to me that our insurance wouldn’t cover any ABA, PT or OT for my son. Why in the world wasn’t this disclosed to me beforehand?! I would’ve gone someplace to have him assessed where they could’ve done the assessment AND been able to provide us with ABA, PT, and OT services, like many places do. When I asked questions about where I could find services or what other insurance providers are accepted, I was met with a lot of “I don’t know.” I can’t be the only family where our insurance wasn’t something they accepted for additional autism services. They need to be better prepared with solutions/resources for families other than “I don’t know.” If they are performing the assessment, they have a responsibility to families to provide them with information/ resources about where families can find services if the Henry Ford Autism Center can’t provide them. It felt like they were eager to bill our insurance for the assessment, but didn’t disclose they wouldn’t be able to do anything for our son beyond the assessment. I was told to message the coordinator, Amber, about insurance providers that were accepted. My message was viewed that day on Mychart but I never received an answer. A whole week went by with no answer, so I went to message a follow up and saw that I was blocked from sending any messages. Why? For asking about what insurance providers were accepted ONE time and that question was ignored by the staff for a whole week? Don’t Autism families have enough on their plates, why be dismissive and unprofessional? It felt like our child and family were treated like a number and an insurance cash grab. They will take your insurance for the assessment, but Heaven help you if you don’t have an insurance provider on their select list or if you’re on Medicaid- because the assessment is all you will get from them and then you’ll be left on your own to find PT, OT, and ABA for your child.
