My mother forced my sister and I to come here when we were kids to try to “mend our relationship” with her or something like that, but in actuality all she wanted was validation for her mistreatment towards us. Susan Berger was more than happy to provide that for her and did absolutely nothing to improve the situation between us and our mother. I remember being mocked by her and my mother with sarcastic comments while sitting in her office expressing my concerns with my mother’s behavior, and basically being told that everything my mother did was ok since she is my parent. The only thing that came out of our sessions was more damage to our relationship and trauma for me, and my mother feeling like she was on top of the world for paying someone else to tell me I was being dramatic. My sister has her own stories she could share about Susan Berger as well, and they’re not pleasant either. She does not address actual concerns and will always take the parents’ side since they’re the ones sliding her the money. Me and my sister are now both in low contact with our mother since she was never encouraged to see the wrongness of her actions, and she simply became too unhealthy to continue being around. I’m sure she still sees Susan just so she can be told that her children are evil and to feed her narcissistic ego. Thanks for nothing Susan Berger.
