Wow, no wonder this place has bad reviews. Our son came here for speech class. Miss Bella had been wonderful, kind and my son made progress. The issue is with their billing. We were charged $540 for $30 copay. My wife luckily noticed it after few weeks and sent an email to billing team per the guidance given by the provider. We haven’t received any response for couple of weeks even though she followed up few times. They came back after few weeks saying that it was mistake and will be used for future copays. They are also super strict about no show and look for an opportunity to charge one fee or the other. The lack of transparency in billing is what made us cancel. My advice to parents is to stay away from this place. Their model is shady. Below is email I sent to them so you get some context. “Thank you Maureen for the detailed response. My wife and I had discussed this at length and we decided to cancel the service effective immediately. Our son will not be coming to ICAN anymore. Please let us know when we can expect the refund for the incorrectly charged amount mentioned below. @Meredith - this is a tough decision for us and very unfortunate as our son enjoys working with ICAN team. However, we are not comfortable how the billing transparency and corresponding communication handled here and it looks like going forward it’s going to be even worse with a 3rd party handling and phone contact being the only option to communicate.
My baby loves it here ❤️
I regret having to write this review, but I feel it’s important to share my experience with ICON Therapy, particularly the Bel-Red location. In my opinion, their practices are unprofessional and potentially risky for children. First, their evaluations seem to be conducted by individuals who lack the appropriate educational background. They do not recognize evaluations from respected institutions like Seattle Children’s, Swedish, or other reputable private entities, instead relying solely on their own questionable assessments. This approach raises serious concerns about their competence and safety for children. Additionally, after reviewing other feedback, it appears there are recurring issues, especially with the management at the Bel-Red location. The director and staff seem to selectively work with children who present fewer challenges, prioritizing business over genuinely helping those in need. I strongly urge parents to think carefully before choosing this facility. Your child’s well-being deserves better consideration. If your child has autism or challenging behaviors, be especially cautious. This place labels kids unfairly. For example, when my child exhibited certain behaviors, their immediate response was to suggest a medical issue. I followed their advice, sought medical attention, and brought back proof that my child was fine. Then, they insisted I see a psychologist or psychiatrist. Again, I followed through and provided documentation confirming there were no issues. Despite this, they dismissed the professional assessments and clung to their own flawed conclusions. Even with all the necessary paperwork, they refused to continue working with my child beyond a one-week trial. Instead of offering support and guidance as therapists, they seemed more focused on finding reasons to exclude children, sometimes even making fun of parents in the process. This lack of professionalism and empathy is unacceptable, and parents deserve better. Consider this carefully before entrusting your child to their care.
Charge late fees without showing any reasons, they seems use special needs children's as hostages , threatening to cancel sessions with providers and denying service to an special need kids
Waited for over a month for a speech assessment for our daughter only to have it canceled one hour prior. This is especially annoying given their policy is 24 hour notice if patient calls (otherwise $150 cancellation fee is charged).
Cannot say enough about this place. Been coming here for about 4 months now and my little guy has made HUGE improvements! The staff is kind and patient, I am very happy that we started coming here!
