It's More Than Speech

We only have good things to say about It's More Than Speech! They are SUCH a professional and compassionate group. The therapists celebrated our daughter's strengths while encouraging her potential, and we achieved great progress during our time with them. We mainly saw Amey, and she was truly wonderful. She always made sure that we understood what our daughter was learning and why it mattered. I felt that my child was valued, and I also felt valued as her parent. The clinic is very understanding of absences for illness and needs to reschedule. We never felt pressured to add extra visits, and always looked forward to our time in-clinic. We relocated, or else we would still be with this group! Five stars for IMTS!

Over the past year and change, have had the opportunity to see therapists at both the Eagle River and Wasilla locations, starting when my son was 2. It has always been a safe, calming place where he has fun learning and doesn’t like to leave. We have seen great progress in that time and he is currently in their summer camp program working with several therapists learning alongside other kids. As a parent, I appreciate how great the communication is from clinic staff and the therapists are incredibly supportive and wonderful in helping us as parents complement the work they do in session. Bonus- IMTS started doing an informational and learning series for parents that I have found valuable. My son is excited to attend his sessions and we are so grateful for the support and guidance ITMS has given our family. It’s More Than Speech truly lives up to their name!

The staff at its more than speech are some of the most knowledgeable, patient, and kind people I have met. The administrative staff have always worked with me on scheduling, billing, and any other paperwork issues that may arise. The therapists are all amazing. You can tell they love what they do. They are incredibly knowledgeable. When I would bring a concern to them they would address it and at times if they weren’t sure, they would all meet together to confer before addressing it. My son went from saying less than 20 unintelligible words at the age of two to saying so much we have to remind him to slow down so we can understand him. Our hearts were saddened to leave the amazing team at Its More Than Speech when we moved out of state. We are so so thankful for all the amazing early intervention he received while he was in Alaska.

I have the highest regard for It's More Than Speech and all the providers my son saw during his time in Alaska. The providers are educated, personable, and truly care about the progress of your child. They strive to help understand your family/school circumstances so your child can thrive in those settings. Truly, everyone there has their heart in their work and it shows. A gem in Eagle River for speech, social skills, and tutoring.

It's More than Speech is our very favorite! We have two children (ages 3 and 8, one with Down Syndrome and another with Dyslexia) receiving services thru them and both children look forward to each session they have! Positive, professional and knowledgeable, It's More than Speech provides quality services that enrich, empower, and encourage our children. Our experiences there have been nothing other than positive and we would recommend to anyone!
