I’ve had a wonderful experience with Jeanne both in individual and group sessions since late 2020. She is insightful and knowledgeable and creates a safe and judgement-free space. I cannot stress enough how much she has helped me in the last 5 years, along with group peers. She fosters honesty and growth without pushing too hard, and sessions often end with clarity and empowerment through practical strategies I can take into personal and professional spaces. I strongly recommend her for anyone seeking a specialist, especially women for late-in-life diagnosis and therapy. 10 out of 5 stars, won’t stop recommending.

I worked with Jeanne during a period when I was seeking autism-informed support later in life, and her understanding of autistic internal experience was both accurate and deeply respectful. I'm so grateful for her ability to recognize high-masking presentations and the internal cost that often goes unseen. I never felt rushed, minimized, or misunderstood. Communication was clear, thoughtful, and - most importantly - worked for me when so many conventional therapeutic relationships had not in the past. Jeanne brings a rare combination of clinical knowledge and practical understanding of autism that made the work feel safe and genuinely helpful. I would strongly recommend her to autistic adults, especially those who have struggled to feel understood in more traditional settings.

I have a mixed, though mostly positive experience. She made my adult diagnosis relatively painless, which was really appreciative. I have Autistic friends who had to drive for hours just to sit for multiple hours longer and be put through the *children's* test for diagnosis...which means many many hours over the span of multiple days. Which, if you're Autistic, know how daunting and exhausting that can be. With Jeanne, it wasn't like that. I was already going through a rough time in my life, and she took the time to *really* dig and figure out which came first in my life...my trauma or my Autism, as there are symptoms/behaviors of Autism that are shared with those who experience trauma and I have a CPTSD diagnosis. Once I had my diagnosis, I was given the tools needed to advocate for myself and she said to contact her if I needed anything. She also offered resources for group sessions as well with other Autistic adults. That being said, I cannot give 5 stars. I had several times where she wasn't on time, or I got a last minute notice that she wasn't going to show up. It's not ideal for an Autistic person who thrives on schedules and knowing what to expect in your day. She was always very kind to me, and very understanding, so I'll give 4 stars because to this day I still cannot find anyone who works for me the way she did. But I have to take the 1 star away, due to how sometimes ephemeral contact can be with her. My friend, whom I referred to her, ended up ghosted entirely out of nowhere. I won't speak too much to her experience, as it was years ago, and I don't remember it beyond her getting ghosted. As I am very honest in my reviews, I will state that I was reached out to after years by her to leave a review. She did not ask for any content, nor was I offered any prompt of what to write, nor any reward for my words. I was very surprised to hear from her, but she did not coerce me to do this. I had wanted to leave a review somewhere for awhile, and I was surprised to even hear from her since it's been 5-6 years since I'd heard from her.

There have been few people in this world who understand me, even fewer who make me feel validated, encouraged, and deserving of love. Autism in women is criminally under diagnosed and misunderstood, but through her therapy I’m beginning to understand and love myself. I’m learning that I am not broken, just living in a world that was not designed with me in mind, and Jeanne helps me navigate it through my life experiences, my relationships, and my hopes for the future. It’s hard work, and emotional during such a wild political climate, but I feel safe and understood with her.

Although Jeanne and I first met when she was working with my now-adult children, we’ve continued to share insights across the years. I’m amazed by her knowledge of autism and her understanding of how it informs the day-to-day interactions and behaviors of an autistic person at various stages of life. Without her help, my son and daughter would not be able to function so well in a social system ruled by neuro-typicals. She truly cares about the happiness and success of her clients!

Hello Googlers, I decided to go through the long and thorough process of being assessed for Autism initially because of sensory issues I was having in the workplace that just weren't being believed by my boss. I also couldn't understand how it wasn't bothering anyone else. I was a frequently misunderstood in communications with coworkers and had no idea why. I wanted the assessment so I could rule iAutism out. If it wasn't Autism, I was certain after months of testing, Jeanne would be able to suggest what the problem might actually be, and therefore inform what kind of coaching or therapy I needed. I was in fact diagnosed with Autism. Over the past 3 years learning about all the facets of my neurotype and the answers to questions and situations I've faced in the over 50 years I've been alive has been helpful beyond anything I could have ever imagined. The compassion I have for myself now, knowing why everything has been so difficult, has relieved me of a lifetime of feeling defective, and therefore changed my life for the positive. Jeanne challenges my thinking and helps explain neurotypical and societal social norms that I never had modeled to me by my family and never had explained by peers. For example, I never knew before being assessed that 80% of communication is non-verbal. And in verbal communication, the societal norm is to use indirect verbiage to infer a different meaning than the words would otherwise suggest. Imagine being a 50 year old and learning this truth for the very first time. If I hadn't been assessed, I might never have known that this was the reason was speaking an enirely different language than my coworkers. I feel more confident asking people to be direct and literal with me and asking them to explain how ways I can say things in a way that sounds less blunt. Without insight from Jeanne, I might have never learned that people read intention into my words, even when there isn't any, because of my autistically typical flat affect and lack of eye contact. My face will not match my internal state or my intentions and whatever my face conveys is going to be how my words are interpreted and the words will have very little if any literal value. As difficult as this fact is for my autistic brain to accept, knowing this is a fact has helped me to understand the things I need to try to do with my face and body language if I want my words to be interpreted the way I intend them to be. This is super difficult for me, but I understand it is important, so I try. As I have learned more I've learned ways to accommodate myself as an autistic woman and recognize when it would serve me to remove myself from a difficult social or sensory environment to prevent a meltdown or shutdown from happening. Jeanne has helped me with real solutions to actual problems I encounter on repeat because of my neurology. She uniquely works to present ideas to me in a variety of different ways so that I understand the issues from an outside point of view and helps me understand context. I could go on and on. If you believe you might autistic, and you are an adult, I can say without any hesitation it is worth it to get a professional assessment. My written assessment results report was nearly 60 pages long. Even if you don't go forward with Autism coaching after diagnosis, the written assesment report is written in a way that can super useful to then use as an outline for self-guided research and discovery. There was a massive amount of nuanced detail given in the interpretation of the data I never could have gotten from a basic online assessment. A lot of the data was completely new information to me, which served to show myself the many ways I am so typically autistic. There is a real value in the detail of the results report that goes way beyond getting a diagnosis. I continue to appreciate Jeanne's insight and support.

I have been involved along with my son as a client of Jeanne Holverstott for over 7 years. I highly recommend her as an autism specialist. She has a calm demeanor and is a great listener. She is reliable, authentic and professional. She helps my son process his experiences and emotions with positive feedback. She has shared many valuable tools to assist on the job, socially and emotionally. My son has gained insight into his behaviors and his processing of information. She has been extremely valuable in navigating challenging life situations. Her support has been extremely beneficial.

Had a really great experience w/Jeanne. After searching forever for someone that would even SEE adults, let alone AFAB adults, it was so nice to find someone who actually specializes in just that. She made me feel like I was on the right track after years of feeling like I was either making it up or maybe just losing my entire mind. In addition to my dx, Jeanne also helped me with accommodations at work and figuring out how to accommodate myself (instead of working against how my brain works naturally). Have recommended her to friends & coworkers and will continue to do so. Absolutely the person you need if you are questioning if you might be autistic.

We scheduled an appointment with Ms. Holverstott for an evaluation. Although she had confirmed the date and time of the appointment and sent a call-in link, she did not show up for the (virtual) appointment. We waited on the zoom call for half an hour and tried to call and email her but she never appeared for the appointment and never responded in any way. I have not previously experienced a medical professional failing to show up for an appointment with no follow-up communication. It was unprofessional and disappointing. Update: I see that 3 months ago, after I left this review, several people all posted 5-star reviews at the same time and one said to look at the profiles of people who left 1-star reviews. I am a real person who had a real appointment with Ms. Holverstott. She did not show up for the appointment and did not respond to a follow up email and call (which were very polite!). She still has never responded, although she apparently had time to ask people to post reviews to try to counteract this one. The appointment was for my adult son. Just this month, he is finally going to be evaluated for autism. There aren't that many people who do adult evaluations and it took nine months to find and get an appointment with someone else. This is the only review I have ever left for anyone - I wanted to let other people know what happened because it was so unusual and it adversely affected my son, who thought he had somehow done something wrong. It would have been fine if she had responded and said she wasn't able to do the evaluation. It was the lack of any response at all after not showing up for the scheduled appointment that was so surprising and unprofessional.

Jeanne Holverstott is a professional, empathetic, non judgemental, and highly motivating therapist. Her understanding of Autism is among the best I have known in my lifetime from an allistic person, due in no small part to her commitment to clear communication with her clients. As a client, I felt confident misunderstandings would be quickly recognized and corrected in session, and that I could trust her to deeply consider my point of view. Jeanne's approach focuses on problem solving. If you expect your therapy to focus on soothing your emotions first and foremost, you may be disappointed by Jeanne's realistic and solutions-focused feedback. That's true of most therapy, however. It's important to know going in that discomfort is part of the process and that the results will be worth it. And while Jeanne is direct, she is also committed to establishing and keeping trust. I highly recommend this therapist, especially to Autistic people looking for a supportive, anti-ableist perspective.
