These folks do monumental work.
Kentucky Autism Training Center has provided extensive training in Hardin County Schools for many years. From summer professional development sessions to partnering with many of our schools as training sites for one or more school years, the expertise of KATC staff has been highly valued in Hardin County Schools.Through the efforts of KATC consultants, including Heidi, Michelle and Enid, HCS teachers have developed capacity to implement evidence-based practices for students with autism. KATC consultants roll up their sleeves and work side by side school staff to problem solve and develop action plans for the school and individual students. They always leave a school with a bigger toolbox and greater confidence in meeting the needs of students on the spectrum. Definitely 5 stars for KATC!
They offer great resources for our community and families impacted by Autism!
I am a second year special education teacher. Last school year I participated in a training program with the KY Autism Training Center and our district co-op. Kim Howard was my trainer, she is very knowledgeable. She provided me with support, information and practical skills I can use in the classroom, I feel so much more confident after completion of the training. I would definitely recommend The KY Autism Training Center.
My son was diagnosed at 12 with Autism L1 a year ago and I was referred to their website for trainings. I found a training that they were cohosting in KY and my husband and I attended. It was a great resource for information and we learned a lot of inspiring and helpful information. I also love the opportunities they offer for additional training to the schools and communities to build awareness.
I am a Registered Nurse working in an autism, non-profit day facility. I had the opportunity to attend a behavioral modification training at this center recently. It was amazing! We saw great improvements in behavior right away, using the RAPID techniques that were presented. They made a believer of this old Nurse! I have spent 25 years in public education and thought I knew all the tricks. So glad I attended for myself and those I serve!
This Training Center Can't even get it together enough to call their clients to start the therapies that they themselves recommended!! UofL Programs Strike again. I personally, have YET to find a UofL program that actually DOES have it together...
