Lauren has been absolutely incredible for our family. We originally came to her because of my son’s airway and sleep challenges, and I truly can’t say enough about the level of care, knowledge, and thoughtfulness she brings to her work. She was honestly the first provider who was able to put everything together. So many people looked at individual pieces…airway, regulation, gross motor challenges, sleep…but Lauren saw the whole picture. The way she integrates craniosacral therapy with myofunctional and speech support is so unique and powerful. You can tell she understands the full brain–mouth–body connection, not just isolated symptoms. What has been especially instrumental is her focus on nervous system support, which is so often overlooked. She understands that regulation is foundational, and she supports it in such a gentle, attuned way. That piece alone has made a huge difference for our son. She has supported his regulation, oral function, sleep, and overall development in such a gentle but effective way. She makes everything feel calm and safe. My son trusts her, which says A LOT. And as a parent (and a health professional), I really value how collaborative and thorough she is. She’s always thinking, always connecting dots, and always advocating for what’s best for the child in front of her. If your child has airway or sleep concerns, feeding challenges, speech concerns, or regulation issues, Lauren is someone you absolutely want on your team. We are so grateful for her!

I can't say enough positive things about our family's experience with Lauren. My child has been seeing her for nine years. His therapy began with the focus on a speech delay and she has continued to support him in so many other ways. Most recently, the craniosacral therapy that she has done, has worked wonders on his expansion. The magic that she works is unbelievable. Lauren's therapy dogs are such an added bonus. Not only does it make the sessions fun for my child, they add to the calming environment. Over the years, Lauren has given so much to my child, and also to me. My only wish is that every child had the opportunity to work with her.

Lauren greatly helped my son who had a very severe tongue tie at birth who had feeding issues. Multiple unique approaches helped him to breast and bottle feed successfully as well as help with gas issues and is now 5 months doing great!

If you’re considering working with Lauren, I HIGHLY recommend it. She is truly one of a kind! We started seeing Lauren when our baby was 3 months old after struggling with feeding issues, colic, and reflux. From our very first session, Lauren’s incredible knowledge, kind heart, endless patience, and passion to help, made such a difference—not just for our baby, but for us as parents. She gave us the tools and support we needed, and our little one absolutely loved each session with her. I only wish we had started seeing her sooner!

My 7-year-old has been working with Lauren Gurtman at Kids Communicate since he was 2. She has supported his motor speech, oral motor, and phonological awareness in an integrative way. People regularly comment on how much she has assisted with his intelligibility and her work with him also has improved his reading. She is so informed, knowledgable, and holistic, and she is able to motivate our son in ways that no one else can. He actually looks forward to going! Lauren is a gem and we feel so lucky to have her in our son’s life and love that she’s here in Hoboken. We would have had to travel into NYC to find a comparable service. It doesn’t get better than Kids Communicate and I would not hesitate to recommend her.

As a pediatric dentist that has worked with Lauren for many years, I cannot emphasize enough what an outstanding provider she is in the field of myofunctional therapy and craniosacral therapy. As a myofunctional therapist she is instrumental in helping children enhance the use of their oral and facial muscles and improve their swallow and nasal breathing. As a CST provider she is able to relax the nervous system through fascial manipulation and thus help the children be calmer in the dental chair. Additionally, her CST skills allow primitive reflex integration to occur and sensory issues to diminish. There are simply no words to describe Lauren's skills nor her passion and absolute dedication when it comes to helping children improve their oral function. I can’t say enough amazing things about our experience with Lauren. Our daughter had apraxia of speech. At the age of 2 she could pronounce about three words. She had a tounge thrust and low muscle tone as well. We started at a really difficult place. Lauren was beyond patient and helped us through all the next steps to get our daughter where she needed to be. With a lot of intensive work and help from Lauren and her amazing therapy dogs, our daughter blossomed into a confident little girl who was finally able to express herself.
