This place is horrible with a major hygiene issue. My child has contracted multiple very dangerous infections at this place. Ranging from RSV to pneumonia. My child has been hospitalized on multiple occasions because of this place. I am so done and I cannot wait until my child phases out of this program. The director Scott is awkward and only cares to cater to white parents. I met this man on several occasions and each time he acts like he has no idea who I am and who my child is. It’s funny how he never forgets the white parents though. He also once addressed me in Spanish without knowing if I spoke Spanish or not, which I found a bit racist and off-putting. He noticed my uncomfortableness through my body language (I can tell from the look in his eyes) but he never even attempted to apologize. The teacher that my child had previously was very nasty, condescending and rude. She showed a strong dislike and annoyance for my child. My child even came home with bruises one day under the care of this teacher. The crazy part is my child only went into the E.I. program for ONE SMALL concern. And of course, these therapists feed off of that concern and start putting your child in for all these extra therapies and services, twisting your words, exaggerating reports and etc.. While all my interactions haven’t all been negative, the negative ones have led me to write this review. I’m done with Los Niños and I’m done with E.I. or whatever other abbreviations they have for these programs.
There are not enough words in this world to express what the Los Niños Early Developmental Program has done for our daughter, Zaria, and for our family. You didn’t just support her — you changed her life. You helped our little girl take her very first steps. You taught her how to find her voice and communicate with the world. You surrounded her with patience, love, and kindness every single day. The way you cared for Zaria went far beyond education or therapy… you welcomed her as if she were your own. As parents, there is no greater gift than knowing your child is safe, understood, and truly loved. And that is exactly what you gave us. We will forever carry gratitude in our hearts for each of you. You are part of Zaria’s story, part of her milestones, and part of our family — always. With all our love and appreciation, The Noble Family
If I could give Los Niños a rating higher than 10, I absolutely would. Both my daughter and my son attended Los Niños in different years, and I can honestly say the program has been life-changing for our entire family. The wealth of resources, knowledge, and support I received as a parent was truly invaluable. The staff at Los Niños is exceptional. It’s evident that they are deeply passionate about their work and take great pride in what they do. Their dedication goes far beyond expectations, and their love for the children shines through in everything they do. Personally, Los Niños gave me a renewed sense of purpose. The experience not only impacted my children in meaningful ways but also inspired me as a parent. It opened my eyes to the importance of supporting children with special needs, and it motivated me to pursue further education and a career in this field. I cannot thank the team at Los Niños enough for the positive, lasting impact they’ve had on our lives. A special thank you to Mrs. Marie and Mrs. Donna—you both left a beautiful and unforgettable mark on our family. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU. 🫶🏼
Los Niños Services has been a true blessing for our family. From our very first contact, Teacher Donna Pothemont has been kind, supportive and passionate about helping my child succeed. Ms. Pothemont kept me informed on my son’s progress and any challenges he faced. Ms. Pothemont graciously fostered my son's love for chicka chicka boom boom. She read this book to my son multiple times with joy and eagerness. Without the support of Ms. Pothemont we would have been truly lost. Nurse Donna has been a total angel and a blessing. Nurse Donna would often check on my son who has seasonal asthma and report her observations. She always communicated with me if my son seemed unwell or got the occasional booboo. We were referred to Los Niños for early intervention services, and their team quickly became an essential part of our child's developmental journey. Our experience (Ms. Mina) and feeding therapy (Ms. Maria) , OT and PT has been exceptional. The speech therapist built such a strong bond with our child, using engaging, creative methods that made learning fun and effective. We saw noticeable improvement in communication within just a few months, which gave our child more confidence and brought so much joy to our daily interactions. My son had the opportunity to join the speech group let by Ms. Kravet. Ms. Kravitz provided him more access to fun activities while promoting the foundation for learning with no added stress. Throughout the entire process, we felt genuinely supported not just as clients, but as partners. Los Niños Services kept us informed, involved, and encouraged. The therapists celebrated even the smallest milestones with us, which made the journey feel hopeful and empowering. My son went from a very isolated, easily frightened child to a social butterfly. If I son could stay at LNS for CPSE it would be absolutely amazing. My son is now at JCC and is thriving due to the foundation created by LNS. As a Social worker I’ve referred clients and friends to their program.
I only have positive things to say about Los Niños, as my daughter was so well cared for during her time in this program. From the very beginning, I never had a single issue. Her teacher was truly amazing—so kind, patient, and extremely knowledgeable in her work. She was very engaged with the children, kept us updated on what they were learning, and always responded quickly to any questions. There was never any miscommunication, and I could clearly see my daughter’s progress, especially with her speech. When my daughter first started, she could barely say more than a handful of words correctly. Now, her vocabulary has completely blossomed. She came out of this program knowing all her ABCs, numbers, farm animals, sea animals, dinosaurs, and even the weather. I was honestly shocked at how much she learned and how much more confident she became. I truly believe that without her teacher’s help, my daughter would have been very behind. Throughout the year, I personally dropped her off and picked her up almost every day, and everyone at Los Niños was always kind, warm, and welcoming. They greeted my daughter by name and made us feel part of the community. I never once doubted leaving her there. I knew she was safe, cared for, and actually learning. It wasn’t just busy work—she was really engaged in the arts, crafts, and lessons. That gave me so much peace of mind as a parent. Of course, like any childcare program, children do get sick sometimes. But I was always kept up to date if there were any issues or illnesses, and I could see how well the classroom was maintained in terms of cleanliness and sanitation. I never had any concerns in that area. Overall, my experience with Los Niños was incredible. I honestly wish my daughter could have stayed another year with the same teacher because she made such a difference in her growth and confidence. Unfortunately, she’s aging out, but I can only hope her next school is just as wonderful.
Hi, I'm leaving this comment because I want to ask about what buses arrive or transit to get to the place from Yonkers.
Los Ninos Hawthorne was the best. All their staff were super nice, especially Melissa in the front desk. My daughter absolutely loved her. They treated my daughter so well and really made her feel safe and comfortable there. She had all her services (ot, pt, speech, and feeding therapy) in their toddler class, and she had such great improvement by the time she left. The class was small and intimate, so it wasn’t too overwhelming for my daughter. Sad that we now have to move on since my daughter aged out of the program. Would definitely recommend it to whoever that is considering Los Ninos for their child.
