I waited months for someone to reach out to me after I did my son walk thru, and assessment…never heard from nobody I sent emails and left voicemails, never call back, so my answer would be NO I wouldn’t recommend lumen to nobody, then have the nerve to post there accepting clients and won’t return phone calls or emails

Our experience with this clinic has been extremely disappointing. My child was injured during a session, and the clinic showed no concern or follow-up. I’ve spoken with the office manager, clinical director, and multiple BCBAs but staff turnover is so high that there’s no consistency or accountability. They constantly cancel sessions at the last minute, rarely communicate schedule changes, and have ongoing issues with paperwork that cause insurance problems. Taylor, the clinical director offers no real support, Victoria, the office manager is rude and unhelpful, and the scheduler never notifies us when staff are unavailable. Having inexperienced therapists work with children with autism is unacceptable, and unfortunately, that seems to be the norm here. I cannot recommend this clinic to any family seeking reliable or compassionate care.

Now that I’ve had time to process and reflect, I’d like to share my family’s experience with this organization. When we first started services, we were promised specific therapists that my child already had a strong connection with. Unfortunately, that promise was not fulfilled. Instead, we were assigned one wonderful therapist who truly cared, and another who appeared inexperienced and unqualified for the role. This therapist openly admitted to basic confusion about directions, frequently sent my child out with shoes on the wrong feet, and had ongoing attendance issues—calling in at least once a week. After I raised these concerns, she was eventually removed from my child’s case, but what followed was a series of substitute therapists over the next couple of weeks, and that’s when things began to decline further. We were once again told that my child could not be paired with the therapists they loved due to “scheduling conflicts.” However, I later learned that one of those therapists was assigned to a family member with nearly the same schedule, which was disappointing and felt dishonest. I raised multiple concerns about hygiene and safety, including my child not being prompted to wash hands after using the restroom, walking barefoot through the lobby during the winter where melted snow, salt, and dirty water were present, and the overall lack of cleanliness. These concerns were repeatedly dismissed by the BCBA, so I brought them to my child’s case manager. After my child began working with yet another therapist, I noticed a significant increase in challenging behaviors—far worse than before starting therapy. I communicated these concerns to both the case manager and BCBA, yet they were not meaningfully addressed. I also reported that my child was coming home extremely hungry after being there from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. nearly every day. The case manager relayed this concern to the BCBA, and I personally followed up about scheduling a parent meeting to discuss reducing hours. The BCBA never contacted me to schedule this meeting. Eventually, I found a new company where my child is now thriving, and I provided a generous two-week notice before withdrawing from services. Despite this, the parent meeting was never scheduled, and no effort was made to address my ongoing concerns. When I notified them via email that I would be reducing my child’s hours moving forward, I was met with resistance and was told that we were “required” to maintain a certain number of recommended hours. After further discussion, I was told the BCBA had “tried to call twice” but that it would be “inappropriate” to continue reaching out — which was not only untrue, but completely unacceptable given that we had always communicated via email. As a parent, I could not continue sending my child somewhere that ignored my concerns about health, safety, and wellbeing. Sadly, our experience was unprofessional, disorganized, and dismissive at every level. I would not recommend this facility to any family seeking compassionate, consistent, and ethical care for their child.

Lumen is truly the best of the best! Everyone at the facility is so kind and welcoming. Our son looks forward to coming everyday and the progress he makes is amazing! Lumen has truly changed our lives for the better through the way they have helped our son with social, emotional and behavioral skills.

After a year of our toddler being enrolled at Lumen, I am thoroughly impressed. The staff has done an amazing job helping our 4 year old with his needs while balancing help for the parents as well. We have made more progress with the help of Lumen Pediatric Therapy than I could have ever imagined. Easily one of the best decisions we have made for our family.

I could not be happier with our experience working alongside Lumen! My autistic toddler has been there for a few short months and they have grown so much following the ABA programs customized to them. The clinic is brand new (CLEAN) and the staff is beyond personable - they are eager, passionate, and we aren't lost in a crowd of faces - everyone gets to know everyone. The social events aren't daunting at all and having the opportunity to meet other adults that can relate has been wonderful. As a parent, the process to get set up was painless, informative, and supportive. They also have an amazing website to share all of my child's information with the clinic. I can see progress, data charts, and resources on how to keep things consistent at home and at ABA. My toddler cannot wait to go play everyday with their new friends - that's how Lumen is designed: they encourage fun to develop trust before diving into programs so the child is more eager to learn and grow. It has proven super effective for my child! They went from being lost in their own world with barely any speech, to being engaged with others, having real dialogue, and sharing with peers. There's also been a huge improvement on catching up on development delays. I feel like I witness a little victory every day. Thank you, Lumen, for helping my toddler share with the world how amazing they are and giving me the confidence to keep it going!
