Please call and make sure your doctor isnt sick before bringing your infant here. Just had a clearly sick masked NP see my 9 month old son in an 80 degree room, they are doing their part for the sick care system!
I am so disappointed with the doctor that my mother and I share - and with the whole system in general, for many many reasons. but this time crossed many lines. my mother for some reason, was prescribed 100mg of trazodone, and was verbally told to take it every 3 days (which makes no sense) when the actual bottle itself says to take one each night. so essentially my mom has practically overdosed on trazodone. my mom is so sick. she is miserable. I haven’t seen her this miserable or sick looking since I was in third grade when she had nearly a month long seizure. regardless of how often she was supposed to take the trazodone, nobody should be started off on a dose that high. and apparently our actual doctor wasn’t even the one to prescribe it- somebody else did and she basically just okayed it! it has incompetent written all over it. unfortunately my parents have gone there for so long and will never leave- but I am sure planning on finding a new doctor for myself. I’ve had enough.
Emily Nixon is absolutely incredible. She is attentive, compassionate, really takes the time to listen to what you’d like to discuss and what’s bothering you. I don’t mind commuting 45 minutes to see her after my upcoming move to another city. Visits with her are worth it. The front desk staff are positive and friendly, Especially when you call in. Which is rare! I’ve worked at the front desk of another mainehealth facility for many years. This office is Top-notch.
Would not recommend this office. They do not seem to care about patient care, they only seem care about billing for the visits. In my opinion, their staff is terrible. Seek telehealth or another local PCP.
Absolutely loved the doctor. Great practice. Kind and caring
Would not recommend this office or any Maine Health location to anyone. They do not care about you as a patient and only see you as another number to make money off of. They limit the visits time and you have to schedule months in advance to see your doctor. I have nothing against my doctor or his staff as they are fantastic. But they are at the mercy of Maine health who don't give a damn about the patients. They are just there to make money. Horrible customer service and horrible management.
We have been coming here since it opened 30+ years. Over the last several years, it’s impossible to see my own PCP. An appointment was scheduled several months ago to see her and I couldn’t get in until January. Now they just called me and said they have to move it to March unless I want to see someone else? I don’t understand this at all. They just don’t care.
I have been coming to this office since I was a baby and I am now 24. I am in the office every 3 months to receive a birth control shot - and the appointment is quite literally 30 seconds. However, for the past probably 4 years, regardless of if I show up early, on time, or 5 minutes late, it takes them between 15-40 minutes to see me after my scheduled time. I have never complained nor have I ever written a review - even on the days where they “forgot to schedule a nurse” and took 40 minutes to realize. I’m a patient and understanding person and I know healthcare is complicated. Normally, I’m frustrated from waiting 30 minutes for a less than 5 minute appointment, but when the nurse calls my name and apologizes and asks me how I am, and we have a friendly chat etc, I am no longer upset and then it’s a whole other 3 months before I’m in again and my frustration dissipates. Today though, I actually left more upset than I felt while waiting. I arrived at 10:25 for a 10:45 appointment and I wasn’t called in until 11:08. The nurse called my name, said nothing when I came to the door, didn’t introduce herself or ask me anything or apologize for the wait. Literally spoke no words to me. Then when I was sat waiting for the shot all she asked was if it was in my leg or in my butt. I felt really uncomfortable and weird because despite my frustration with waiting, I’ve never been seen by a nurse in this manner. She also told me that the front desk would schedule my next shot when I check out and this bothered me because every single other nurse I’ve ever seen (I’ve been getting this shot for 8 years) has asked if they want me to have them schedule it right there in the room (and I always do). She didn’t tell me to have a good day or anything! It was very strange and upsetting. This was honestly such an annoying experience all around but I’m almost USED to waiting longer than normal at this appointment. But today was my last straw. She didn’t tell me her name - because she did not talk to me - so I’m unsure. The front desk staff thought her name was “Marie”. Just overall fed up and disappointed with this whole experience and I’m heavily considering switching my doctors office. The relatively new man at the front desk is extremely friendly and I was able to express concerns to him and I appreciate him and all the friendly staff this office does have. Though, I feel that something needs to be done about the disorganization and unfriendliness of some employees and appointments.
