Yeah, I knew a new boy baby today
This place has been awful for my daughter. I didnt have a say that she went here but the care she needs is out patient and the refuse to listen to her or me! I refused consent for her to be there and refused consent for anyone there to give her any medication. They treat these kids like prison inmates with ankle monitors and no safety provided. Some of the girls have to share a bathroom with boys and that should never be allowed!!! Please please don't ever let your child go there, I didn't choose it and I'm fighting everyday to get her out.
Very disappointed with my daughter’s intake. I was there for two hours, the counselor showed up 30 minutes late, and then told me she only does virtual sessions. The only in-person option would be parent one-on-one, which means I’d have to pull my child out of school every week just for virtual therapy. This was a complete waste of my time, as I wanted in-person, hands-on counseling. If I wanted virtual, I’d stick with ChatGPT. Families deserve real therapists and clear communication upfront.
I was a patient they helped me a lot
The nurse practitioner was rude and standoffish. I was scared because my 8 year old was suicidal and asked him for advice. His sarcastic response was just "Discipline him?" The security guard officer Antoine was wonderful though. I hope he's being paid nicely.
Amazing place best hospital ever
from a parents perspective and from what my child has told me, its obviously not a vacation and you need to go in with the mindset of getting better. The RN Kevin (3rd floor) was my son absolute favorite and was someone he felt he could talk to, he truly enjoyed Dr. Cozart and would check in with her regularly Dr. Hanna was sick a few days but when she called me and updated me we had a wonderful conversation. Everyone truly listened to my concerns as a mother and helped me come up with a plan to best help my son while inside and out as well as looking at overall health no just mental. He didn't go in to make friends but was able to open up to some of his peers he connected with which made this a better experience coming from a kid who thought no one understood him. And he got to bring his blanket for comfort. The only reason I gave 4 stars is several time his food order was messed up and going in with an eating disorder this was discouraging because he felt he had to force the food down when he didn't like what was incorrectly given, as well as his first night he arrive at 4am and was not able to go to sleep til 5am I was told by the admission staff during our call that he would be allowed to sleep in and they did not allow him too and simply told him they forgot (they're human but he had been up for 24 hours at admit as a mother that was upsetting) and another patient on the floor was very disruptive to his healing and several other peers and made my son scared and anxious.
While i was there the staff did there best to make sure i was ALWAYS comfortable and even though they only have limited things to do, they always had something for you to do so you wont be caught up in your thoughts. When you need space to yourself there is a quiet room you can go if you would like to be alone or with a staff member you trust. All staff members were very patient with everyone.
