Maui Ocean Center, The Aquarium of Hawaii

Fantastic aquarium. Definitely will go back if had the opportunity. Get their 3 course meal package, it was worth every penny.

I refuse to support an establishment that refuses to take cash. Legal tender. We left. At the same time I’m glad I didn’t waste $175 for 3 people to go here. That price is insane.

This was great for kids and adults.

So many fun things to see here, including a neat 3D film about humpback whales, a tank of sea turtles, a tropical reef, a beautiful humpback whale water fountain, and a really neat shark/ray tank. Seeing the giant ray swim through the water tunnel is quite the spectacle! And no visit would be complete without some Hawaiian shave ice from the stand right by the entrance.

Went when it was raining , so everyone was there so it was super crowded. I expected way more for the 60$ price tag to get in. You ha e to pay for parking. Loved the whale show and big aquarium. But again i was disappointed at the small aquarium's for a lot of the "fish". Not what i expected dor the price tag.

Unfortunately the restaurant situation ruined the experience Tracy, the hostess was condescending and rude She made a big deal about moving my family ( with a 5 year old granddaughter) away from the front door which she couldn’t close? It was a very windy and rainy Very disappointing day not worth the high cost This is very disappointing as the meal was very good

A rip off. We went to an Ocean Centre in Auckland New Zealand a week later half the price and so much better.

We visited the aquarium on a rainy day and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. I went with my grandmother, and from the moment we arrived the staff was incredibly kind. They offered us a wheelchair without us even having to ask, which made the whole visit easy and relaxed. Everything was very well organized and spotless. The exhibits flow naturally, there is no stress or confusion, and you can really take your time. The octopus was a standout. Smart, curious, and clearly comfortable, it put on an amazing show and had everyone stopped in their tracks. We also loved learning about the rehabilitation work they do with coral, sharks, and turtles. It felt meaningful, not just entertaining, and you leave feeling like the place truly cares about the ocean and its animals. We had lunch next door afterward, which made it a perfect, unhurried day. At the end, my grandmother said it was her favorite day on the entire island. That says everything.

It’s a fun place for families. It’s clean and has a nice layout. The price of admission is absolutely INSANE. It is so incredibly expensive to go and hoentiy, I don’t think it’s worth the price. It is definitely lacking in exhibits for the price. I don’t think we will come back because of that. They either need to lower prices, or else update and add on exhibits. Also, would be nice if kids 5 and under were free, like the Monterrey CA aquarium.
