Dr McCray evaluated my 3yo back in January for ASD. He was so kind, empathetic & thoroughly explained every question & concern that I had. I can’t recommend him enough & I will always remember him as such a positive first step to our sons diagnosis & treatment🩷

I went into the appointment feeling anxious and emotional, however you made me feel at ease about it all. Dr. McCray took the time to really explain to me the meanings of things. As parents, we often blame ourselves when something is "wrong " or "not normal," but I left the office feeling very confident and determined to get my child all the help that she needs. He was very kind and I am so grateful that he was the Dr. who my daughter was referred to.

Accurate diagnosis. But the way Dr McCray explained my child's potential prognosis/trajectory was not helpful. For me as the mom, this was the single most emotionally difficult appointment. The benefit however, was knowing that my child is in fact autistic, and having that diagnosis opened doors to get my child qualified for therapies that will best support my child's needs. I will say, I do think Dr McCray cares very much about the children he evaluates, and the office environment is very colorful and well adapted for a child to at least enjoy this appointment while interacting with all the different toys and such.

Had a schedule issue and attempted to reschedule my appt. My reason for rescheduling wasn’t approved by the doctor and he denied my request to reschedule. I tried to explain the situation. I anticipated this issue at the time of scheduling and explained it to the receptionist who told me to just get myself on the calendar, which I did and explained that I may have complications with keeping the appointment. She said it was fine that they would work with me.. and then they didn’t. Very unprofessional and very disappointing.

James McCray evaluated my son for autism in the fall of 2012. My son was nearly 2.5 years old at that time. Looking back, I can't say enough good things about that appointment. Dr McCray was very kind, patient, knowledgeable and deferred to me as the child's mom. He said he knew autism; I knew my son, and why don't we compare notes. I felt like I was in a 3-hour coffee date in which I learned a ton of information and gained many tools for how to help my son moving forward. My son is 11 years old today and as a family we have all benefited tremendously from that meeting with Dr McCray. 5 stars, hands down.
