Comprehensive ABA therapy services tailored to your needs
Jesica is one of the absolutely best! She is caring, empathetic & knowledgeable. She offers different therapy models that were very beneficial in my healing. Highly recommend her for trauma therapy. She truly cares about the outcome of your sessions & your wellness. If you are looking for someone to help you, I wouldn’t hesitate to call for an appointment.
I've seen Jessica for several years and have found her to be extremely knowledgeable, competent, and compassionate. She is experienced in multiple therapy models, which allows her to provide comprehensive mental health services for her clients. My work with her also inspired me to become a therapist myself, and after doing so, I'm even more confident in her abilities as a clinician.
I highly recommend Jessica Kennington! She's understanding, patient, and has helped me a lot these last two years.
Jessica at Moonbrook Mind and Body is an excellent therapist. She is skilled with both somatic experiencing and EMDR. If you are looking to get to the root cause of physical symptoms and want to dive in to other modalities besides just cognitive behavior therapy, then you should definitely give her a try.
I've been seeing Jessica for awhile now. I've battled depression and anxiety for most of my adult life due to a series of abusive relationships. Jessica has helped me tremendously to overcome many of the unhealthy behavior patterns that I've developed in an attempt to cope with my past. I highly recommend her to anyone who needs help with their mental health issues. She's compassionate, insightful and very easy to talk to. She uses a variety of techniques to help individuals break free of the mental and emotional chains that keep a person from living the quality of life that they should be living. I've come a long way on my road to recovery thanks to Jessica. I readily recommend her to anyone who's interested in resolving whatever issues they've developed throuhhout the years.
I thought that I had a good connection with my therapist Jessica Kennington, till a year in I found out that she hardly ever listened to me, didn't take notes, and believed that I was faking most of my issues. I only found out because I had to request a release of records from her to give to my doctor, and saw that she had retracted some of my diagnoses without ever saying a word about it to me. The conditions she retracted had been diagnosed and reaffirmed by multiple therapists before her, so they were never in question. She had always seemed kind, thoughtful, and compassionate, but once I started asking her questions about this, she did a total 180. The release of records was only about 5 pages total, consisting of a short letter listing her diagnoses for me and the entry paperwork & notes from our very first session. I'd been seeing her every week for about a year. For reference, I had been seen every week at my previous therapists' practice for about four years, and the release of records I received from there was around 3-4 inches thick and contained the notes from every single session I attended. One of the conditions she retracted was MDD, which I have been diagnosed with for almost a decade and from multiple therapists. She told me her reasoning for this was because "you can't be diagnosed with depression and autism at the same time." When I was very confused and told her that I had been diagnosed with both for years, she went on to say "well, it's against the rules and I'm a big rule follower. Maybe your previous therapists didn't know about it or just didn't care about breaking the rules, but I do." She refused to tell me where she was getting this information from and didn't want to further discuss the issue. What??? I have read through the DSM, the ICD, and consulted multiple professionals online and in person, and absolutely nothing has shown that there's any truth to that, much less a 'rule' about it. It's also ridiculous and insulting to imply that my previous therapists have all either been uneducated or uncaring 'rule-breakers'. The other diagnosis she retracted was DID, which, again, I have been diagnosed with for years and from multiple therapists. When I expressed concern about how I had been telling her all about my trauma, dissociation, memory problems, and alters for a year and now I felt like she just didn't listen to me or believe me, she said this: "I believe you have alters, and I believe you have dissociation, and I believe you have amnesia, and I believe you have severe trauma, and I believe you suffer from all this. I just don't believe you have DID." She didn't want to speak further on the topic. I was baffled because... that is the exact definition of DID. It is the only explanation outlined in the DSM-5 for separate & distinct identities, amnesia, and severe dissociation all occurring together in someone who experienced severe & inescapable childhood trauma. What makes it even more baffling is that my DID was the entire reason I sought her out, since her Psychology Today profile described her as an 'expert in dissociative disorders'. As an aside, she would also frequently give me unsolicited medical advice that I don't know she's actually qualified to be giving. It was very clear to me that she had not been taking me seriously the entire time I had been seeing her, even though I had worked hard to open up to and be very vulnerable with her. I was very hurt, and she completely broke my trust. IN SHORT: In my experience, I absolutely do not recommend Jessica Kennington as a therapist, counselor, or social worker. She is irresponsible, stubborn, and condescending, among other things. I truly have no clue where she is sourcing her information from, but it isn't the DSM, ICD, or any other widely-recognized medical regulation. Her therapy is misguided & ignorant at best, blatantly wrong & potentially harmful at worst. Please consider literally anyone other than Jessica Kennington.
