To my understanding , I want to thank you to Gianna. For taking care of my needs. Very outstanding work ethics. 👏
I recently received a phone call from one of their “Navigators,” Kayla. Apparently, if my identical twin sons, both with severe autism and nonverbal communication difficulties, cannot verbally answer “yes,” they won’t be eligible for services offered by the MAC. Isn’t this very reason why the MAC was established in the first place? It was created to address the challenges faced by individuals like my nonverbal sons with severe autism in obtaining care from medical professionals elsewhere. I’m still waiting for a phone call from Kayla’s supervisor. It’s disheartening because when my sons were younger, we were asked to participate in a news conference to help pass the bond for the NEISD funding. I never imagined that my sons would be discriminated against by the MAC.
Amazing place and people!
Morgan's Multi-Assistance Center is an incredible facility! Per their website, "Morgan’s Multi-Assistance Center (MAC) is a center that improves the lives of individuals with disabilities and special needs through comprehensive and coordinated services. Morgan’s MAC’s services use a family-centered approach with full collaboration from the family, MAC Member, and community partners known as MACers (pronounced “MACK-ers”)." I recently visited for the first time to attend the Parkinson's Foundation's Veterans & Parkinson's event, and it was amazing! Morgan's MAC is clean, well-kept, very spacious, and it's the perfect event space for large groups! This is a fantastic facility - I highly recommend visiting!
Great place I just wish they had more resources on helping families get wheel chair accessible vehicles. We love team ability, and Communicare! The ladies at the front desk where you sign in even you just come in the building is always nice. I love the bathrooms and they have big ones to change the littles or the big ones
If you live in the outskirts of the city it is very difficult to get and retain services here. After my son’s navigator ended it feels like they just dropped us. I have still had to find services for my son outside of the MAC center, was hoping for it to be a medical home for him. Now I’m struggling to find another pediatrician and dentist plus other specialists that are disability friendly.
There are not enough words that I can give to this amazing facility. Communicare is now accepting other children from the community to come into the MAC for care. This is so helpful especially to families who have one child with Autism, all the children can share one doctor in house. The staff is so kind and helpful and they make me smile every time we go. The other side gives so much help to children and adults with disabilities. It is a massive blessing to our community. Thank you to Morgan’s family for blessing all of our families as we strive to try to live with children who have disabilities.
