To all families with autistic children: if you were considering using a company called NeuroLink, who has a new Autism facility in Blaine, Minnesota, I would think again. This facility is attached to a Montessori school and a church off of 89th and Blaine. My daughter’s caseworker from Hennepin County, who is also of the same cultural background as this company had referred and pushed me to use this company as they offer autism services to children. Even though I was reluctant after several broken appointments, lack of organization, and working technology, I continued to try to work with them as it’s important to use people whom your team refers. A couple of months have gone by trying to set up this program for my daughter. Things were very much unorganized, excuse after excuse, yet I tried to understand as they were new. After today, I have learned that that was a mistake. my daughter was supposed to start this program today. They were to be at my home to pick her up at 3:30. They did not show up. They sent an email saying they would be there by four. Luckily, I happen to be by my phone and seen the email. Not a telephone call but an email. Please keep in mind that my daughter is autistic, and I have staff and people depending on the next person to show up to help care for her. 4 o’clock comes and goes still no knock on the door that they’re here to pick her up. My evening staff had already left and left her in transition with an adult sibling who is getting ready to leave for work. 430 comes and goes… no knock on the door. It is now 5:22 PM. My daughter called me in frustration as she was now late for work. I called the center. They claim that they were there and sat outside for 20 minutes but did not come to the door. They expected my autistic daughter who cannot read her write to be outside waiting on them even though they were expected at 3:30. Keep in mind that it’s a hand to hand transfer. They are to come to the door. When I called them to tell them that I was no longer dealing with their company. The owner of the company yelled in the background good your family has been nothing but problems and hung up the phone. The problems they’re referring to is the fact that I would not sign off on things without completely reading it and having it printed off for me so that I could read it. Asking thorough questions about their billing process. They wanted me to sign blank forms because they were having technology problems. This is 100% unacceptable unprofessional and unsafe for my autistic daughter. If this would’ve been a school day, my child would’ve been at school and they would’ve not showed up to pick her up which would have caused the school staff to have to sit there until somebody did. I truly hope any and everybody who is considering using EIBDI services @ Acadamy Autism center in Blaine Minnesota think twice as they clearly don’t care about their clients and all they care about is billable time. I am extremely disappointed and yes, I am contacting DHS, Hennepin county DD services (we live in Anoka County however she still receives Hennepin county services), and the Better Business Bureau .
