This places staff suck

My child was here in the spring of 2023. I am glad that they had availability. The staff that work with the kids are pretty good. The counseling was excellent. They did have outings with those at this residential facility and this was a good thing for my child. The only complaint is that there was a lot of television during the down-time. If your kid has to go to somewhere for residential, New Beginnings is a good place. The Intake Team is on the ball and they work with parents and their kids well.

I had mixed feelings when I dropped off my child. When I got a call that he had obtained weed, I was pretty upset that it could happen. When I got a call about inappropriate sexual activity I wondered where the staff had been. When I got a call asking me to pick him up because he had been out of control, I wondered how they call themselves a treatment center when they can't keep kids off drugs, away from sex, and can't help them behave. He had little to no therapy. I couldn't reach staff when I needed to. The staff made disgusting sexual remarks, cursing, and apparently shared drugs. The "outings" were to go to the mall or a store where kids wandered and stole, or walk on a nearby trail. The therapist is rarely available and seemed overwhelmed by my son's needs. My son has been in 3 other treatment facilities and this is by far the worst.

My child was allowed to leave at any moment. The staff would not stop her and would not chase her. The communication with the staff was non-existent. My daughter was consistently on SnapChat. When I asked the staff why this was happening they pretended to be surprised at that information only to find out that the phones she was using belonged to the staff. The staff were literally enabling her to use social media and the director/owners did nothing to resolve it. My daughter at one point broke a window and left. I was told that every single child there knew how to turn off the alarm that was designed to sound if the windows were breached. Again they did nothing about this. My daughter reported to me that the staff member named Red took my child's paints home with her and said she would bring them back and never did. When I asked the program Director about this she could not tell me where the paints were. It was horrible experience and in the end the responding officer that spoke to me about my child going on the run told me that New Beginnings Behavioral is the problem. These things happen all the time and sooner or later one of those children are going to be hurt or worse. Do not send your children there.

Thanks to the comprehensive care and unwavering support my child received, they not only overcame challenges but also developed invaluable coping skills to navigate future obstacles. This facility has truly been a beacon of hope and healing for our family, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone with a child who needs compassionate and effective mental health.
