I cannot speak highly enough of the incredible work being done at New Hope Treatment Center. I did 2 years in their Summersville location in the 90s here's a handful of fun facts during my stay. 1. An adult staff member had a fully condoned relationship with one of the patients there. (This is a juvenile treatment center that housed many SA victims) 2. Two staff members were quietly let go after months of physically abusing the patients. 3. Solitary confinement of minors was an everyday occurance for the smallest of infractions 4. They put a patient who had a known problem with stealing in charge of the confescation closet, a ton of people's personal property was stolen with no compensation for it. 5. My roommate's arm was fractured during a restraint because he was getting a drink of water. 6. One of the therapist was caught ontape saying they falsify medical reports. 7. Tons of gaslighting and pitting other patients against each other was a regular occurance. 8. Same with over medication I was on 500mg of Zoloft when I left. I understand the Summersville location is closed down but the fact that the whole company is still in business is down right criminal.
