Caring and competent staff. Thank you.
I was told I need emergency surgery to have a kidney removed b4 the cancer spreads and after two calls a couple weeks apart my primary finally got my message and now I have been waiting a month for emergency surgery and have never even got a phone call? I guess I already know the results. they make more money keeping someone alive rather than doing the cure when there is or was time to cure me. I have never given up on anything but nothing I can do about this on my own. Here's to hoping they are helping someone?
I’m disappointed with the lack of communication during my mother’s hospitalization. I struggled to get clear information about her condition and care, which caused a lot of unnecessary stress. Hospitals should do better when it comes to keeping families informed. This experience fell far short of expectations.
Very bad billing practices. My insurance adjudicated shortly after visit and put a portion of the visit to patient responsibility then sent EOB to NI EMMC. NI EMMC sat on this for 364 days before sending me a bill. They should probably be reported to the Maine AG for this.
I have never experienced as much incompetence as I have with NL billing department. They refuse to properly bill my insurance with the CORRECT DSM code and are SEVERELY overcharging me for appointments that should only cost $45 EACH. My insurance has been trying to get them to bill correctly as well. We have been fighting with them since September and instead of communicating with me or my insurance company, they just sent the bills to collections. I have no problem paying the bill when it is billed correctly but overcharging me HUNDREDS of dollars for each appointment is unacceptable and clearly I will need to bring my lawyer into this mess. Before my PCP came to NL, they were at PCHC and billing went flawlessly. My appointments were coded and billed perfectly and my copay was correct. Pretty sad PCHC billing was 10x what NL wishes they were. Ever since he switched, it's been a complete nightmare. I think they pick the most uneducated person in the office to call you, also. Talk about clueless. She asked me to explain the situation (again) and when I started to explain, she just kept yelling "MA'AM, MA'AM... MA'AM" over top of me and cutting me off. Can't help me if you can't hear me, right? 🙄
the doctor that operated on my hip came in my room screaming at me
Was told multiple times by the healthcare professionals that my procedure would not cost me anything, and had I known it would I would have gone to another hospital. Got hit with a $5,240 bill, hospital billing staff was absolutely no help. The staff after surgery were rude and short. Post op care was lacking in just about every way. After having surgery I was allowed told to walk out, no help in a wheelchair, just rude and inconsiderate care. I would avoid this hospital unless your life absolutely depended on it. If I could do it all again, I would risk going to a further away facility with better care and policy. Poor care, poor customer service, misleading about cost.
