My time has been wasted by promises of help that are rarely ever fulfilled. I am a college student and won't be able to finish my degree because of OOD, which has me feeling depressed and hopeless. My degree has been the only thing keeping me going these past years. It should not be this difficult to even get in contact with anyone here.

These people have never helped our son with any work programs helping him with his job interviews helping him with job training. They don’t help with getting rides. They don’t help with anything that they say they helped with when dealing with special needs children. They love to give you the runaround and never answer a question and blame it on the next worker who didn’t even have anything to do with it. They never answer emails or call back in a timely fashion to help you or your child Franklin County cares less about special needs kids and more about having left workers work for them when they need all the workers they could possibly get to help out with their caseloads then they pass on the blame to the parent like it’s absolutely their fault. OOD is an absolute clown show ran by a bigger clown and a bunch of clowns that work for them myself and my wife have been trying to get a hold of them through emails text messages, phone calls you name it they don’t answer it and then when they finally do they’ll go we didn’t hear from you guys. They have more excuses than your special needs. That would have anything in life whatever happened to the decent person working at places to help kids with disabilities this place does less or special needs kids than the sign says on their front door. This place needs to be closed and reopened by people who actually give two craps about children with Disabilities

I am very thankful for Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities for all the help they've given my daughter. She has learned, and is still learning, skills that will help her in her future.

My son has had the opportunity to do your summer Youth, employment experience and had a great experience. It helped him to get a better idea of what he could do in the future and what he’s capable of. He really enjoyed it and enjoyed having a new group of people to be around and learn from. I look forward to having the opportunity for him to utilize this function again next summer and potentially getting a job throughout the school year and after school ends. My son has had social anxiety, his whole life, and this helped reduce his anxiety and able him to actually participate because of his lack of social skills. I look forward to continuing this collaboration for my son.

My son was able to get a summer job through OOD. The process was smooth and transportation was provided. Everything was clearly explained and he got all the support he needed and we are grateful. Thank you for such a great experience!

My son has his first summer job through OOD and it went very well. He had a great job coach and learned a lot. He also got to socialize with a few other kids which was good for him. We wish it was more than 5 weeks long. Looking forward to his next job opportunity. Grateful for the OOD services.

OOD did a great job of working with my son to get job experience. His job coach provided excellent guidance to ensure he had what he needed to complete the tasks at hand while helping him to gain self confidence. Highly recommend!

Phenomenal experience! My child participated in the youth summer work program and it well exceeded my expectations. The job coaches were absolutely wonderful with my child. They would explain the job and the expectations of the said position and provide guidance throughout the whole 5 week program. I will be forever grateful for the opportunity!

The summer youth work experience was not what I had hoped. A few weeks in I heard from our OOD counselor that things were not going well although she never visited him at the job site to see this firsthand. She even spoke to my son on the phone to ask how he felt things were going but didn’t offer any positive feedback or suggestions to improve. This would have been much better if the job coach reached out to us directly so that we could problem solve the areas of concern. When I questioned whether or not my son should continue with the program she sent me the notes from the job coach which were overall very negative and perhaps not meant for parents to read. My suggestion would be for job coaches to be the ones to communicate progress on a weekly basis.
