Our Children First

This office is extremely unprofessional. I have been calling for weeks regarding my baby’s CPSE evaluation, and no one answers the phone. Initially, I was told that my child needed authorization and that they would call me to schedule the evaluation but they never did. Weeks later, when I finally managed to reach them, I was told that the authorization had already been approved. Now, once again, I have been calling for weeks to schedule the meeting to review my child’s CPSE results, and I receive no response. This level of irresponsibility is unacceptable. They are playing with my child’s future, and early intervention is time-sensitive. Families deserve better communication and accountability.

Just go ahead and close this place down. Im so heartbroken 💔 my son is not getting the help he needs. Over month pass and no update. SHAME ON YOU!!! SHAME ON YOU!!! SHAME ON YOU!!!

I had concerns regarding the delay in my child’s evaluations and his enrollment process, which left me feeling very frustrated and unsure of what to do. I was able to speak with Karla, the director of Our Children’s First, and she truly listened and understood my situation. Karla immediately reached out to the district administrator and was able to schedule a meeting for me the very same day, ensuring that my son could move forward with enrollment as soon as possible. I can’t thank Karla enough for her dedication and support. Even while I was stressed and concerned, she remained patient, understanding, and proactive in finding a solution. I deeply appreciate everything she did to help my child and our family.

My 17 year old daughter was given the opportunity to participate in their summer program as a volunteer where she interacted with the children by the guidance of the Therapists. This program allowed her to interact with the staff and children so that she can get a look into this profession. I recommend this summer program to any youth that is interested in this field to apply. It gave my daughter life skills and a chance to fully understand what she wants for her future. The Staff helped her get acclimated to the center’s environment. I greatly appreciate them for it.

Before my son started going here, he couldn’t sit for longer than 30 seconds. Now he can sit and complete simple tasks like drawing, naming, and even eating at the table. The progress he’s made here has truly prepared him for his next step.I was nervous about putting my son in a center-based program, but the staff made me feel so welcomed and reassured that he was always in good hands. I also loved how they kept me updated throughout the day with pictures and notes on their app; it gave me so much peace of mind.This program has been such a blessing to our family. The staff truly care about the kids and put so much love and effort into helping them grow. I couldn’t be more thankful.I highly recommend this program to any parent looking for a supportive and caring place for their child.

My daughter attended this school for a little less than a year. In this short period of time she was given great attention and learned many things. The staff here are so caring, attentive, and take the time to respond to any concerns you may have. I was so nervous to send my child anywhere for the first time, but after seeing how happy she would come home, I knew she was in good hands. I will be forever grateful for what they’ve done for her. I would recommend this school one million times!

I recently visited Our Children First and had the privilege of attending one of their graduation ceremonies. It was a truly wonderful experience. The program was thoughtful and beautifully put together, the decorations were lovely, and the staff was exceptionally kind. The attention to detail, the genuine focus on each child, and the way every achievement was celebrated made the day so special, exactly what any parent would hope for during such an emotional milestone. The facilities were also impeccably clean and welcoming. Overall, it was an outstanding experience with an amazing team.

My son absolutely loved attending Our Children First. Prior to speaking to Carla and enrolling my son, I spoke to so many schools and did a number of visits and I just didn’t feel comfortable with my son being in their care. When I met Carla, I knew that my son would be surrounded by amazing staff and would feel right at home. The staff at Our Children First really care and love each and every child that enters those doors. All children receive 1:1 care which is something my son really needed. They’ve helped my son improve so much! I am so grateful to have such a wonderful resource here the Bronx. If you are looking for a place for your child, look no further! This is where you want your child to be.

If I can I’d give it ZERO star!!! They never gave my god daughter the help she needed after her evaluation nor did they even bother to coordinate with my sister about her early intervention evaluation. Since 2024 now we 2025 and they wanted to wait until she is in 3k/ preschool and not even coordinate with my sister about the next steps or explain anything not even give them a date or number for the meeting. They stated my god daughter is “high functioning “ but needs speech and OT and never had got anything . My god daughter now needs so much help and regressed badly and they didn’t even bother to help with anything . Stay far away from this place ask for some where else if you love your child .

If you’re not on top of it your child’s case will get lost. My son was in speech when he was 2 and it was okay, not the best but decent. This is his second time getting speech now that he’s 3 and the process to everything is much longer and slower now. I’ve been emailing and calling people about finding a speech pathologist and I’ve been getting the run around and no answers. The process from getting evaluated was slightly quicker but everything after that is horrible.
