I can't say enough good things about the team serving the adolescents. My child came out a new person with a hope and self-esteem I hadn't seen in years. Thank you so much. You were literally life savers for us.
DO NOT SEND YPUR CHIKD HERE. THEY DO NOT COMMUNICATE OR CARE FOR THEM. ITS COMPLETELY SHIT.
I walked in here a broken person with no hope. I was at my lowest and was trying anything I could to get help so I joined partial day IOP. This facility and my care team - Therapists Leah and Taylor, and Dr. Lopez not only gave me the ability to start hoping again, they truly saved my life. I was there for six weeks, the group therapy sessions helped more than I thought they would. I now have tools to help me get through and a spark of hope that gets a little bigger each week. I am so thankful I took a chance and came here.
Definitely wasn’t as bad as Other facilities. Not very clean but overall Treated well by most of the staff. At the time I went, I was only 13 years old So things might have changed, but when I was there In the adolescent unit, they had a hard time containing The other patients and There was a lot of fights. Understaffed but overall treated Fairly by most. Wouldn’t recommend As a first option For parents looking For Treatment facilities for Their child But would definitely recommend it over Lighthouse And three Rivers behavioral health. I would definitely recommend looking Into Carolina Center for behavioral health And Marshall Pickens For treatment facilities in South Carolina.
I want to start off by saying that I am so thankful for how much Palmetto Summerville has helped me heal and grow. There were many factors that made a difference from Palmetto Summerville to other hospitals I’ve been to. One major thing was the staff, from the moment I walked onto the unit the first time I was greeted with love and support. I was placed in Palmetto Summerville 2 times over the course of 2025 and both times were tremendously helpful. I loved the structure and the groups as well as my therapist Ms Divine. She was so helpful and she always knew how to talk me through sessions where all I would do was cry. Ms Emily was one person out of many that made the biggest impact on me. When I came to Palmetto Summerville I was not eating and having the toughest time with food and Ms Emily helped shape a different perspective on food and why I needed it. I have never been treated with that much respect before and she became like a mother figure to me. Anytime I needed her she would be there and I will always remember her and what she has done for me. Ms Shaniqua has had a very long lasting impact on me and I will forever be grateful for the tough love she showed me. She helped me realize that just because you are tough on someone doesn’t mean you don’t care for them. Mr Levi has a special place in my heart because he always listened to me and never judged anything I said. When I would go to him for advice he would give me advice from a fathers perspective and thats something I am so grateful for. Ms Tea always showed me that I needed to focus on myself and put myself before everyone else. She also showed me it was okay to have a caring heart and want to help everyone but I would never get better if I didn’t care for myself. Ms Harriet was always so caring for me and she always joked around with me, she made me feel a little bit more human with every conversation we had. Ms Khadijah, Ms Lavanda, Ms T, Ms Shayna, Ms Tara, Ms Tyra and Mr Joey all showed me that it was okay to be there and that being there didn’t make me crazy or broken it just meant I was willing to help myself to get better. Ms Isabel always treated me like I was her own and she always gave the best advice. She made me feel a bit more normal with every passing day and I will forever be grateful for her and everything she thought me. I am so thankful for all of the staff but these are kust some of my favorites. Palmetto Summerville gave me somewhere where I could be myself and heal in peace. They pushed me to become a better version of myself. If you are considering Palmetto Summerville for yourself or a loved one I would say it is the best facility I have ever been to and I think it really pushed people to get better and to heal in a safe and loving environment.
I was here twice, the nurses blasted music at night so you could not get any sleep, the food portions were small, the nurses admitted to having favorite patients and would only focus on them. Visiting hours were short. They did not care that some kids were being harassed by other kids. The fire alarm went off multiple times due to construction, sometimes even in the middle of the night. This place just honestly sucks and I don't recommend it for minors.
Honestly when I first came here it was scary and new, and I didn’t know how I would be treated here. But I got welcomed and some few people came to talk to me and after a few days I was pretty fine! Had some ups and downs sometimes, but the staffs, social worker, or just anyone who worked there were really sweet, supportive, and helpful. I really enjoyed staying there and having a routine everyday because at least I had a purpose to do something everyday!! I made friends there, but of course we couldn’t share contact with anyone. I hope they’re doing well, and I hope the staffs are doing great! I honestly felt so much better after staying here. I stayed in unit 5 and the staffs plus the night techs were absolutely amazing and fun to be around with, but some things I didn’t really like was having to sleep in the cold even with a blanket, only getting 10 minutes on a phone call (but understandable since there were other people), having to wake up early for blood pressure, the supplies for hygiene weren’t the best, but overall it was a great experience for me. ૮꒰˶ฅ́˘ฅ̀˶꒱ა
Instead of DO NO HARM They inflict the MOST HARM POSSIBLE. “Doctor” Holly is arrogant and incompetent. He truly believes he can treat my KIDNEY TRANSPLANT better than the Mayo clinic in Rochester MN. That’s where I had my transplant on June 4, 2024.
Very nice experience. I would definitely refer this amazing establishment very kind an caring nurses an social workers. Also such fun create ideas to detach from being in a hard plays in life also others creative therapies sessions. Counseling is an great experience. Detox is hard as it is. The care I was giving was excellent. Thank you palmetto low country. -Teresa Frasier Aka Annie
