I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Shapiro. I am fortunate to have experience with Dr. Dan as both a parent and a professional. As a pediatric PT, I have referred patients to Dr. Dan for both consultation as well as to his fabulous parenting classes. He is a valuable and available resource. Similarly as a parent of a child with ADHD, Dyslexia, Dysgraphia , hearing loss and a genetic condition I can say that my son has seen his share of doctors. Dr. Dan rates as one of the best. He is patient, compassionate and most of all available. He is quick to respond to phone calls and emails, often emailing late at night and on weekends when needed. He really goes the distance for his patients and we are so glad to be working with such a highly regarded professional.

Dr. Shapiro is amazing. He works with three of our four children, treating each as an individual but also keeping in mind our family dynamic. He is reasonable, practical, insightful, and always compassionate; he has been so supportive of my husband and me when we've had to make hard decisions about how to allocate resources for our kids. I particularly value his approach to medication: methodical, realistic, and respectful of parent and child input. He's a gem, and we are so grateful for the care he has provided to our family.

For 15 years Dr. Shapiro has cautiously guided us through each phase of our son’s development. His conservative approach and recognition that each child and family is different is highly effective. His straight-forward and gentle mannerisms puts even the most anxious patients at ease. We highly recommend his practice and parenting classes.

We are so grateful to Dr. Shapiro - I have recommended him and his workshops to many people over the past 8 years. There is no one in this area like him- we are lucky to have access to his wisdom through his book and seminar. He has a deep understanding of children and how to work with them , while in a realistic and loving manner. Years ago, we thought our daughter would never be able to stay in a mainstream school due to her challenges (and several other “experts” told us the same thing). We attribute our child’s success to Dr. Shapiro’s expertise, understanding and empathetic personality . It is through working with him and attending his workshops and seminars that our daughter has been so successful in school and has been able to stay in a challenging academic environment (while still working through her own challenges and disabilities). I would give 100 stars for him if the system would let me - 5 stars aren’t enough. If you want to see your relationship with your child change and their behavior, listen to his advice and follow through - we are living testament that it really works!!

After working with nearly a dozen doctors and consultants/professionals, each with their own tests and methodologies, only Dr. Dan's diagnosis accurately reflected the complex situation we were dealing with. We have been with Dr. Dan for 8 years now and his breadth of knowledge on treatment and support options made us feel comfortable and confident that we were choosing the right options for us. As with many complex situations, we are always dealing with a moving target and Dr. Dan's follow-ups and continued support have allowed us to evolve our care/treatment options over time to suit our changing circumstances. It should also be mentioned that Dr. Dan is extremely sensitive to our entire family's social dynamics not just a single member of the family. Simply put, our family would be dealing with a significantly higher level of stress were it not for Dr. Dan's help. Plus, he's just a really nice guy!

In addition to being brilliant at helping children with different developmental needs and their parents, he is also extremely responsive, caring, and compassionate.
