I'm not a patient at this place, but my 22-year-old little brother is currently a patient here, and I'm very disappointed in some of the workers. The nurses were unprofessional over the phone and didn't care about the patient or the family's concerns. We've called several times to see how my brother is doing, and whoever answers the calls to transfer our call to his nurse station seems to be very ignorant. They see our number on the phone and don't answer, always saying something is going on in the station or floor that's preventing them from answering. I feel like there should be someone who cares for patients having mental breakdowns and can communicate better with family members when they call. One nurse told my mom and aunt that my brother was faking and there's nothing wrong with him. Who is she to tell them that? First of all, my brother was heavily drugged It's an illness; he's not in his right mind. My brother is a respectful, kind, hardworking young man who will say yes sir and no ma'am to anyone older than him. He's caring, sweet, and gentle, and will help anybody. My brother never cursed at older people or family members. This place is full of clowns who are only working to get a check and blame the patients for things they haven't done. My brother told us he cut himself and that they were trying to provoke him. They said he choked people, but I've known my brother for 22 years, and he doesn't put his hands on someone unless they've done something to him, and he's trying to defend himself. I dislike this place so much, and I'm ready for my brother to come out and find somewhere better that communicates and is really there to help him, not torture him. I just want him to be ok but those people in there are terrible 😢 help us lord!
My 22 year old son was there to get help and he was treated badly. He wasn't in his right mind. Things got out of control during his visit. They call the police now he's in jail my son need treatment if yall couldn't help him you should have said it from the start. This place is bad and don't care about nothing but a paycheck 😤😡😡
The worst place I have ever been. Staff yelling at patients. Staff not listening to the patients needs. I needed surgery and I sat for days not being taken to the ER.
I had two children to be a patient at Parkwood. Let me start off by saying all the negative comments from ppl on the outside telling me that Parkwood was a really bad place to have your children and I look at those ppl and said to myself those are the ones that made their OWN personal experience bad and I'm the type of individual that has to find things out for myself. One of my children is not there anymore but my other child has been in and out over 4 times and each time has been nothing but good for me. I can't speak for anyone else's experience but with my experience with 2 children it has been wonderful. Now in my opinion the discipline measures should be a little bit more enforced b cause a lot of the children are immune to the consequences that they will get when they are not following instructions like they should so I just feel the discipline that is enforced should be a little bit more tougher. Other than that my other child still attends Parkwood but now she's in the PHP program. She's been all around Parkwood and every staff member that I have come across too and interacted with was EXTREMELY polite with me and if needed told my daughter she needed to get her act together and I was and still am fine with that. Mrs. Krystal oh I just love her dearly. From day one she has been having the same demeanor about herself and is just straight forward if she says something that she is going to do and take care of believe me she will do it. Her word is her bond and I very much respect her even now and then Ms Debra........ She's another one with a heart of gold. As my daughter's previous therapist she was straight forward as well tell it like it is. I miss her dearly being my daughter's therapist 😭😭😭😭. Any questions that I had if she didn't have the answer at that moment she most definitely got back with me. And let's not forget about the DIRECTOR OF PARKWOOD. She's amazing as well. From the moment I met her she was soooooooooo polite and informative just like the other staff that I mentioned. I don't know all the nurses names but the ones that I met in the evening time were great too!!!!!!!! All the way to transportation Mrs.Tracy😁😁😁😁😁😁 never a dull moment she's amazing too. The moral of my story is never judge ppl or a business off of what others say without researching it on your own first💕💕💕💕💕💕 you never know just by hear say you could be missing the opportunity for your child to get help he/ she needs🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
This experience was an eye opener for my child and I! The nurses are very considerate and they truly made me feel heard and supported! And my son’s therapist was very supportive and consistent, updating me along the way! My son and I were transformed positively
My daughter reported male staff supervising her shower time. Her therapist, Valandria told the kids she didn't like doing individual therapy and "wasn't feeling productive" on MLK day so they were just going to talk instead of doing therapy.
It was a great experience it definitely helped me a lot and all the nurses are good and sweet if something happens to me again I want to go back there
i was recommended to come here after going to lakeside for 10 days and seeing no progress. i thought maybe a different place would give me different results. boy was i wrong. this place was 2 times worse than lakeside (if you can believe it). i was having a psychotic episode (i have schizoaffective bipolar disorder). during these episodes, i’d have delusions that people with authority over me were working together to try to kill me and make it look like an accident. i was suffering from one of the delusions, and the nurses on the clock accused me of being racist because i was afraid of them, despite me being afraid of all nurses. not to mention, i was grouped with the patients who were detoxing, despite the fact that i has told them that vomit was one of my triggers (i have emetophobia). being in this place was psychological torture. the only thing that saved me was the psychiatrist and therapist i was referred to after i left. also, the doctor literally gave me a fist bump after i told him my thoughts were driving me to become suicidal. i wouldnt recommend this place to anyone.
