When we got the call from Samantha that there was a spot open for our son at Pelican, we were thrilled. After we did a walk through and met the staff, we knew this was the right spot. Mikailah has been our son's therapist for the last six months, and he has improved tremendously under her tutelage. Even though our son is non verbal, we can tell how happy he is to see her every day, and we know he is safe in her hands. Mikailah takes time to explain what she is working on with our son, and gives us advice on what we can try at home. It is clear that Mikailah really cares about the children she works with, and we are blessed to have her helping our son. Another amazing thing about Pelican is that it has ABA, Speech, and Occupational Therapy under one roof, and Sara Kate has been a great Speech Therapist for our son. She was able to help us get an AAC tablet, and she is really helping him learn to communicate. We drive all the way to Shreveport from East Texas to get the best therapy for our son, and we highly recommend that you give Samantha and her team a call if you have a child who needs one on one therapy.

We started with Pelican Pediatric Therapy a year ago and I can’t thank them enough for the strides that they have made. My son struggled with being non verbal and with aggression due to not being able to communicate. A year later we are speaking and communicating, as well as playing with peers appropriately. We’ve even seen a decrease in meltdowns as well!
