This facility is very unprofessional and don’t care. Please don’t send your love one here! Please! They do not care about the patients life story. It’s all about money . Pretty much , they kidnap your love one ;without their consent …nor the families consent! They only allow 5mins of phone time. People don’t deserve to be treated like that.
I’ll admit I was a little uneasy when we first arrived, as the exterior looked a bit neglected — but I am so glad we didn’t let that deter us. From the moment we walked in, every staff member was kind, patient, and genuinely caring. They treated my son with respect and compassion, even though he was not at his best self. The doctor truly listened to him, made him feel heard as a person, and didn’t just rush to push medications and send us on our way. My son has struggled with his mental health for some time, and after being under their care, I finally feel like I have my son back. He seems like himself again for the first time in a long time. I’m incredibly grateful for the wonderful doctor and staff here — their dedication has given my son his life back, and for that I am forever thankful.
The food was small portions , I couldn't eat half the meals I received but breakfast was #1 meal of the day!! Snacks was good. I stayed hungry mostly. About the workers( nurses ) Some were nice and treated you like a person and some of them treated you like you were a problem ( didn't want to be bothered with you.) The doctor I had was great, he really listened to you and understand what you were going through. Talked to you with respect and caring. Smoke breaks well if the worker like you that worker gave you 2 cigs for that smoke time. Even if you bring your own cigs they still treated you the same way. Over all it's better than the mental ward in Houma hospital on Industrial Blvd. I've been there and I was treated like shit , the nurses didn't give a damn about the people. Unless they know you or you don't ask for anything. Maybe it has changed since I've been there. I had a few people I know really didn't like it at all.
Absolutely terrible experience. Had to beg the staff to get someone to clean the restrooms because the entire area the restrooms smelled like urine. They neglected an older man while I was there who couldn’t feed himself/walk. I even took it upon myself to feed him some days. Do not go here if you have control over it. This place needs to go out of business. Zero therapy the entire time i was there. The group therapy sessions were mediocre when they actually had them.
This is the worse hospital ever. The IOP program is a joke they treat you like you’re beneath them. This is not a good place to go if you want to be recovering healthy and happy mentally and through addiction. I sat done with the Nurse in IOP with something really serious going on with me and she treated me like I wasn’t even human. Then I was on the same medications for 4 years and they just switch all up causing my body to go through detox. No one deserves to be treated that way. Then the doctor doesn’t even look at you when he speaks to you. This kind of job should be for people that care not just a paycheck or another number to them. Please don’t send your loved ones here.
