Staff is nice but never pays attention, judges you openly, acts like they care, its basically like school

Way too many fights and they also kept me for TWO weeks even though I didn't do anything wrong

Igrone my goofy name but I was there from Jan 20-Jan 27 and the experience was a mixed bag. There was a lot of good moments and bad moments Cons: staff: Some staff would be too blunt with you and not comfort you or they were under a lot of stress from patients but some staff was great like Mr. Adrian Bed: The bed wasn’t that comfortable it was hard and small and felt bad Food: a lot of food was like school food and if you’re a picky eater good luck lol! But we did get a lot of snacks Pros: Fun activities: You’re able to do many activities like color papers,watch tv, play UNO and play on the tablet Socialization: When I was there I was an anti social kid but after the first 2-3 days you start to know each other and you can become more social and meet new people that came from different environments Safety: Staff do help keep safety mainly at night as they walk in to check on you every 10-15 minutes at night and if two patients are having trobule with each other they will separate them. Overall this is not a bad place but the environment can be chilled or crazy at times I give this hospital a 3/5.

This was truly just a prison. This place does not try to help children at all in the bedrooms are dirty. They have stains in the pillows. There was staff cussing at everybody and grabbing the kids and throwing them out the room and I was losing my mind in that place and me and my mom were asking them to change my unit, but they were refusing to change my unit and it was really just an awful experience

This was all an helpful experience and it helped her mental health a lot more she came home smiling more and she doesn’t stay in her room as much as she used to her depression and anxiety has been a lot better and I strongly feel like it helped her and I strongly recommend this hospital than any other hospital.

I wanted to share my experience from when I was a child. I was admitted for depression and trauma related symptoms. The staff is terrible, definitely not trained to deal with kids experiencing psychological or traumatic symptoms or issues. The environment was extremely homophobic and discriminating against LGBTQ youths. I remember a staff member telling me “You don’t know what you are.” Mr. Mike, a past staff member was extremely rude to me, got in my face, told me to stop speaking to people. I’m guessing me being a homosexual and 13 years old at the time was provocative for him. The staff physically abuses the children, I was dragged by the arm myself, and I witnessed dozens of children being detained in an inhumane way and then tranquilized without a parents consent. Last of all, the staff verbally abused us children. Most of the children being admitted are already being verbally abused at home. A lot of the children being forced in by their parents are experiencing behavioral issues because of the issues at home. That is then projected on them at this hospital. The children are treated as if it is their fault or as if they are the problem. I highly doubt any of this has changed since I was there.
