My son has made so much progress with this ABA company! The therapists are caring, patient, and really take the time to understand him. They’ve been such a blessing to our family — I’m so thankful for all they do!
Although there were pros and cons to working with PBS I would highly suggest passing by this company and working with a different one, if the option is available to you. They need a better screening process to ensure they are hiring more professional providers. I found lack of professionalism to be an issue with more than one person I worked with through this company. They also consistently neglected to address the specific behavioral issues I was requesting them to work on with my daughter. Since there is a word limit, I am not able to go properly expound on the pros and cons but in the end the cons out weighed the pros and I feel there was a lot more progress that could have been made had there been a better process within the company to oversee their employees.
*1-Star Review* Terrible experience with Positive Behavior Supports! They seem to prioritize their own convenience over the well-being of the children they serve. Inconsistent and unreliable, with no clear standards or protocols in place. Their operational methods raise serious concerns about ethics. My daughter's experience has been particularly distressing. She's gone without essential services for months, with no proactive communication from the company. Despite repeated requests, I've been unable to get in touch with anyone above her BCBA. As a result, my child has regressed significantly. The lack of planning, unresponsiveness to emails, and eventual case closure due to caseload issues without adequate support are inexcusable. This company has failed my child, and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. If you value your child's progress, look elsewhere. Issues with staff call-outs, lack of notification, and no backup support for children who rely on consistency only add to the disappointment. Please choose a different company if your child needs consistent help and care. Update: the issue was resolved! Although it took months to happen. I am happy with the team my daughter has now and I'm happy that it reached who it needed to reach so that my daughter could get the help she needs and deserves. My child's new BCBA and therapist are amazing.
After reading the latest reviews, I now realize I’m not the only parent left waiting for a follow-up after submitting medical records and insurance information through the parent portal. Their website clearly states that families will receive a phone call within two business days after the initial contact—yet it’s been nearly three weeks. I’ve left multiple voicemails and sent emails to various staff members, with no response. If the clinic is experiencing a shortage of therapists or RBTs, that should be transparently communicated on their website or social media. Families deserve timely updates so they can make informed decisions and seek support elsewhere if needed. Our children’s care and progress shouldn’t be delayed due to poor communication.
Let me just say, this place really needs to work on communication within and out of this company. I finally received services in May 2023, waiting for 3 years on the waitlist. We have gone thru 3 behavioral analysts to my recollection since with this company. When services were first started at the end of the school year May 2023 we got a few sessions months done. As the new school year 24-25 approached it was time for his recertification. forms were filled out and eventually it was denied. The analyst at that time tried to request for a peer to peer, but ended up getting a phone call regarding the explanation of the denial. From there she told me i had to do the appeal with the insurance company. I didnt understand why I had to do it since they had the information even though she provided some of the details with me. I work in healthcare and if there is a denial I do the appeal, not my patient unless all options have been exhausted on my end. So 12/2023 i called my sons insurance company to file the appeal. was told it could take up to 45 days. i checked back 1/5/24 and was told it could extend up to 60 calendar days, but no update. followed up again 1/22/24 and was told they system was having issues and asked if he could call back . he called back 2 hours later stating no appeal was found or a denial. emailed his therapist. didnt hear back. texted her on 1/29/24, 1/31/24, and 2/5/24. heard back same day 2/5/24 stating she would f/u. didnt get back until 2/12 as she was waiting for her supervisor. was then told i had to call eq health about denial. was told i have to call the state for a fair hearing. called the state for said hearing and then before i even had the hearing, EQ health overturned their denial out of the blue. continued with services for a month or so, then an family emergency happened. Due to the situation of the emergency I didn't know how long she would be gone. The company never contacted me about it. I honestly can't remember if i contacted them about this or not. The analyst was gone for a month or 2 and services continued for the most part with some delays in scheduling on both our parts. Then the analyst went on maternity leave. Which again no one contacted me about this for a temporary analyst. So i contacted them trying to figure out what was going to happen or the plan. It took several emails and calls to a few people just to get an answer. I even got a phone call eventually from someone named Alex and told him my frustrations with the company. He apologized and said he would talk about these issues at their next meeting. Now eventually we were placed with a temporary analyst who i had a good feeling about. We had one session then it was a little while till the next as my sons original analyst came back. I requested to be switched to the temporary analyst as I had a better feeling about him and my son took well with him compared to the other. It took maybe a month to get it switched. Now i am having issues with this analyst trying to get services for my son. I had to cancel 1 or 2 sessions. The analyst has also been sick, twice to my knowledge. But i don't seem to get contacted about rescheduling. I as the client shouldn't always have to reach out trying to get something setup for these services. It is beyond ridiculous. At this point i am just done with this company. I always try to play devils advocate as i work in health care but i am also a patient/client. I try to understand both sides. But this is just the worst. Would never recommend this company to anyone!!! I fought since my son was 3 years old BACK IN 2018 for his diagnosis and getting him all the help he needs to end up with no SUPPORT from this company! I am done giving chances with them The only person in this company i had anything nice to say about it Elizabeth Greene as she is the only one who responds to my emails in a timely fashion and tries to help as best as she can. Tells me who she is forwarded messages to.
I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Positive Behavior Supports. We’ve been clients for a year and a half. At first, for about 8-9 months the BCBA was very involved and seemed genuinely dedicated to my child and our needs. However, after it felt like we were left on the back burner and felt that the communication with BCBA was mediocre. The communication with the RBTs was wonderful, and they were truly a godsend. The BCBA almost never showed up toward the end and only on tele-health. The Senior Behavior Analyst couldn’t have cared less about our concerns. Despite being promised three additional RBTs after our consistent therapist left, none of the new RBTs were ever assigned to my daughter. Instead, we were told time and again that it “wasn’t going to work out.” The biggest frustration came when I received an email from the BCBA saying that my daughter would “graduate” from ABA therapy because it was “not medically necessary.” Even though fading out was talked about a month ago. Not just cutting it off cold turkey. The hours were faded out abruptly, and the so-called “graduation” felt like an afterthought. There was no celebration or acknowledgment of how far my daughter had come, despite her growth and the fact that she had met her goals. I had hoped PBS would make this transition a meaningful and exciting event for her, but it was just a simple statement with no real support or recognition. It was incredibly difficult to get in touch with anyone, whether it was for payment, billing, or insurance information. Communication was always a struggle. After a year and a half with this company, I feel like we were just treated as another case number, not as individuals. The lack of communication, broken promises, and complete disregard for celebrating progress have left me thoroughly dissatisfied with their services. I would not recommend Positive Behavior Supports to other families looking for comprehensive, caring, and individualized ABA therapy. You will not get the hours that you need and the lack of RBT’s. You will find yourself frustrated all the time with this company so I’m here to save you the frustration and go with someone else.
Absolutely abhorrent communication from this entire company. I’ve been trying to get therapy since April of 2024. I would absolutely not recommend this company whatsoever. I’ve pre-paid about 500.00 upfront and little movement. It is now October 31 and I’ve yet to be placed with a therapist. From phone systems being down, emails not getting through to payment miscommunication, it’s been a frustrating journey.
Great team, highly recommend!
This place doesn’t even deserve one star! Words cannot describe this poor excuse of want to be Therapy place. KEPT YOUR KIDS AND FAMILY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. They don’t treat you like humans (except the ones that are mislead by coming to work for them), they don’t want you to have a voice in your own home (your not the parent and what you say doesn’t matter when they’re in your home), the communication, oh my Sanford, that is HORRIBLE, AWFUL, NONEXISTENT! They will drop your service because you tell someone they are not allowed in your home for being disrespectful and you speak out about it… #TEXASHHS yall need to be looking into their practices and ask the client(s), (kids, parents, old and new) about them.. They don’t even have a direct number to call
There is another review here about a mom who provided their child's medical records to PBS pre-qualified them and never returned phone calls after leaving multiple voicemails to multiple people and emailing the initial person you talked to. The last person I talked to was 2 full weeks ago, they rushed me through the little bit of questions they had and told me someone would reach out to me once they got me approved. I know that I'm approved because of the type of insurance my son has. I'm calling his insurance company and having them dispute the claim. Yes, I know how insurance works because I've worked in health insurance before. My son desperately needs their services, and if they don't have anyone available to provide them they can have the professional decency to say so! I have been trying to desperately get him services since Dec.2023 with a different ABA Dr but unfortunately he got really sick from pancreatic cancer and passed. We are now in May 2024 and I was referred to this place and I explained how long I had already been waiting and then they go and ignore us! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS PLACE! Now I have to start from scratch allll over again and these applications are no joke amd time consuming to fill out! Not to mention the stress that I'm already under to begin with from my son needing these services. SHAME ON YOU PBS!!!!
