We have been attending Prodigy Autism Center for nearly a year. Initially, the services were excellent, particularly under the former BCBA, Alexis, who was professional, courteous, and ensured staff compliance with all protocols. My child as well as myself received effective parent coaching, hands-on training, and debriefing sessions, setting a high standard for ABA care. Administrative team outside of clinic and scheduling has been fantastic with meeting all clients needs. However, since Alexis and several skilled RBTs left, I have observed a severe and concerning decline in the quality of care: Poor Staff Supervision and Focus: RBTs spend more time on their phones than collecting data or interacting with my child. Dismissal of Medical Concerns: RBTs have dismissed or argued about medical and health matters that the former BCBA had properly addressed in coordination with my & my child's PCP. Safety Failures & Lack of Documentation: My child has been experiencing higher-than-normal behavioral issues, including self-inflicted harm. I had to insist on proper incident reports, as staff often failed to follow protocols and provide adequate supervision, leading to my child harming herself or others. Regression in Skills: I have observed a significant regression in my child's mastered tasks and skills that should have been maintained. Lack of Parent Training: I was not receiving the parent training sessions stipulated in the company's protocols and had to repeatedly insist on them. Unacceptable Incident with New BCBA Amber : My decision to reserve judgment with the arrival of the new BCBA was revoked by an incident that occurred today. When my child was resistant to entering her session, I requested help from the RBT at the door, who refused. When the new BCBA eventually arrived, she also initially refused to assist with the transition outside, citing "safety concerns." It is the staff's responsibility to provide necessary support, and refusing to engage with a client during a critical transition is highly concerning and unprofessional. As I was leaving, the BCBA approached my car, visibly upset, and stated that I had to discuss the incident further or she would discharge my child within 30 days. I believed we as a team worked through this issue and felt confident in their abilities moving forward for the day. I found her behavior, driven by visible agitation and emotion, to be completely unprofessional and unacceptable. Allowing personal emotions to dictate a threat of discharge has severe consequences for clients and families. I will not hesitate to remove my child from this program if I believe it is in their best interest. The current leadership’s actions (Amber) have reinforced my decision to seek a more professional and competent ABA provider. This company has great potential once they acquire the proper skilled rbts and BCBA's. Who can work with clients on all levels wether that be inside the clinic or outside within the community. The BCBA did apologize for her emotional irratic behavior but this apology was given to shut me up as a mother, advocate and to leave. If she wanted to speak to me Amber should have done this when she was not emotional were we both can sit down at a later time and speak. I had no idea what was going on, again I felt it was handled effectively on both ends with transitioning my child into the clinic but Amber felt other. I saw a side today of Amber inwhich I never saw and although my child likes Amber she exhibited ill behaviors while on job, also while speaking to me the client mother. I also have the right to express to other parents concerns as other parents have expressed concerns to me in the parking lot. Over all administrative outside the clinic: 10/10 Scheduling team: 10/10 Corporate director: 10/10 New BCBA : 3/10 NEW/ current RBTs: 3/10 the exception of 2 rbts who get: 10/10 Facility clean: 10/10 Parent coaching sessions: 0/10 Environment overall 7/10 they need an indoor playground rbt/ bcbs supervision with client: 3/10 Following protocols: 5/10
Don’t know what to rate it, looking for therapy sessions for my son but after reading some of these reviews I don’t know for sure low
They acted like they cared. They turned their back on my child knowing she needs the ABA services. When the office needs something from you they will most definitely call but if you need to get in touch with them. Good luck! I'll be finding am ABA center whi treats me and my child like the humans we ARE!!
Amazing company full of compassionate staff! The client progress is so beautiful.
Prodigy is an amazing ABA center for kids with autism. We have 2 of our kids at Prodigy. They are attentive and always kind. Their first priority is always the kids and how they can progress in their program. Our kids have had tremendous growth in such a short time. I highly recommend this program and we are truly thankful to them.
At enrollment of our kids, we discussed our concerns/importance of maintaining consistency with school and other therapies which lead to afternoon sessions daily and one day of early dismissal for one of our kids. Later, we learn that we would need to move to the facility’s new “block scheduling” or not receive services. This required daily early dismissal from school where other therapies were being received so coordination with the school was necessary prior to this switch. Admin states that we did not agree to the new scheduling, which is true because I won’t risk their school attendance/placement. The school did not respond because of a hurricane and the county was shut down for days. Prodigy discontinued both kids’ therapy until we got approval and even though, despite the words of the admin, the kids’ spots were not held for them. Our kids went weeks without therapy. Recently one of my kid’s days was eliminated with less than 24hr notice (coincidently the agreed upon early day), due to the unavailability of therapists for that day. Admin did call to speak on the changes the day of, but this was impromptu when I was at work and unable to fully discuss. A BCBA offered provide treatment, but Admin denied that idea and accommodation as “it is not feasible to hire a new therapist.” Therapists appeared to be reassigned to accommodate other clients, which we found to be preferential discrimination. As an advocate for my kids, I did have multiple chats regarding this matter which was considered “aggressive behavior” with “defamatory remarks.” Admin claims that they have “gone above and beyond by accommodating extended absences and accommodating an egregious amount of untimely late pick-ups.” Medical notes were provided when applicable and emergencies/death are unavoidable. Also, if they want kids to be checked out on time, therapists should be ready at pickup time and parents not waiting outside to be let it past the session ending time. Being distracted by using a mobile device to check out kids is disrespectful during the verbal update provided at the end of session. Though the contract states to be upheld to the Ethics Code for Behavior Analysts, we found this to be false in our experience, specifically noting Ethics Standards 2.02 Timeliness, 2.08 Communicating About Services, 3.01 Responsibility to Clients, 3.04 Service Agreement, 3.12 Advocating for Appropriate Services, 3.14 Facilitating Continuity of Services, 3.15 Appropriately Discontinuing Services, 3.16 Appropriately Transitioning Services. IN MY OPINION: The administration of this company has effectively displayed the lack of clientele care and compassion for kids of special needs to grow and build life skill. As parents, we have looked past the screen time during sessions and the acceptance of aggressive behavior towards my kids (apparently, it’s a constant learning opportunity but not when your child does not feel safe). With this review, admin might find it apt to redirect our issues, HOWEVER, I am a MOM of kids who need someone to advocate for them. Deflecting the issues at hand does not justify what we experienced. Lasty, I did research many avenues to act on so that my kid’s services would be reinstated. Unfortunately, the admin cannot be held accountable to the Ethics Code for Behavior Analysts (as listed in their contract) because they are not BCBAs. This negative experience brought us to find another company whose focus on routine, consistency, and overall patient first mindset better match our children’s needs and assisted in providing a seamless transition of services. It should be noted that the counselors do seem to genuinely care about their patients, but the same cannot be said for the admin team which ultimately led us to seek therapy elsewhere.
This is our third ABA company in three years and we will continue staying with Prodigy. The RBTs and BCBA have been helping us with our daughters toileting and we’ve seen such progress in her time there. The team is knowledgeable in their areas and so welcoming.
