As an educator in Grenada, I had the opportunity to be a participant in a one day workshop in Grenada with Ms. Michelle Francis. The methodologies Ms. Francis and her team members employed to educate us on the topic were so interactive and hands on that I can boast of leaving the workshop more knowledgeable than before. Thank you Ms. Francis and your team for heightening my awareness on Autism Spectrum Disorder.
I have known the administrator/owner for over 9 years in that time have come to know her as THE teacher for my ASD daughter. There's always one teacher that made that impact with your child, connected with them, communicated with them and in so doing the child blossomed. I use that term because ASD doesn't mean incapable, my daughter was stuck behind a very small window with which to get information in and out, to use that information, process it and execute information through a very small window. Because she couldn't communicate the things she wanted to, she was aggressive even through chairs at the teacher. Frances, the administrator, caught my attention when she recognized the same sign I had noticed that things "were about to get serious." It was a discreet sign I was shocked anyone else noticed. By recognizing this, Frances was able to recognize when her tolerance was up and re-directed her, enough times to where she no longer used her aggression to get or communicate what she wanted. She could now LEARN, in HER language. With the bad habits out of the way, things settled down in the house, far fewer meltdowns we now have no meltdowns, relationships are rewarding for her and the best part, she ENJOYS READING, something I didn't think she would ever be able to do. Everything began to blossom. It took us longer to get there, but we got there with the talented support of THAT teacher who cared about my child as much as I did. Each ASD child is different but the parents of the children in Frances' classroom will all say the same thing, THANK YOU. When we learned she wasn't coming back to our school we were absolutely devastated but her value is so much more needed on a larger scale than a kindergarten classroom. I would want every parent of an ASD parent to have THAT teacher, to know what it feels like to see amazing progress they didn't think was possible of their child. The child is in there, I am blessed to have found a person who was able to pull her out. That Frances. She's our TEACHER we will indebted to forever. Mushy? Maybe, but she in indeed made a profound difference in my daughter's life, a difference only a qualified, experienced and CARING individual can provide.
Highly Trained and qualified professionals. Best in the field.
I had a free consultation with the director of this Centre. The session was very informative and Mrs Francis was extremely helpful and reassuring during our interaction. She helped me to understand the signs of autism and offered every form of assistance necessary for the best care. I truly appreciate her help and highly recommend her.
