I am so thankful to have found Irvin. His breadth of knowledge and holistic approach are a welcome relief. I am feeling some movement and relief from my chronic pain after just two sessions.

Irvin, at Resilience Occupational Therapy, is magical. He seems able to fix a variety of aches and pains. I had a pain in my side for years which nobody could treat successfully. After Irvin addressed it, it went away. Now I am seeing him for cluster headaches and meeting with the same degree of success. I highly recommend Resilience. Occupational Therapy.

I highly recommend Resilience Occupational Therapy. The relief that I have felt in just two session is immense. I have been dealing with chronic debilitating pain and the care that I receive is unique to the needs of my body and the detail and depth of the care is unparalleled to any care I have received for this pain before. So grateful !

I started working with Irvin on scar care about 6 weeks after bilateral incision top surgery. When I first went in, my top surgery scars (which go from sternum around my sides to just under the outsides of my scapulae) were newly healed firm nodules: ropy, stiff, limited the movement of the rest of my torso. Irvin told me about his background and his approach, then spent about 30 or 40 minutes gently but purposefully palpating and subtly massaging along the lines of my scars. By the end of the FIRST SESSION, I could feel with my own fingertips my NOTABLY softened scar tissue. That softening has increased in each of the last five weekly sessions we have worked together. There is now much less pull at the scar line when I bend or stretch, and the scars have begun moving in concert with the tissue around them rather than staying stuck like a bulwark. After the session working on internal scarring across the full front area of my pecs, the tissue is more naturally rounded and softer - I had gone for "what my chest would have looked like if I had never grown breasts" rather than "totally flat," and this session went a long way in helping that natural shape emerge. In conversation with Irvin, he has readily and comfortably addressed his position as a cis man, and how that impacts his lived experience, potential limitations or biases, and desire to work/history of working proactively to address those gaps in his knowledge. I have always felt 100% safe on his table – emotionally, physically, interpersonally. As someone with ~40 years of female conditioning in a disabled and fat body, I have found it deeply restful to work with a male healthcare professional who operates in such a grounded balance of comfort in his own knowledge; curiosity about his clients’ knowledge, experiences, needs; and mindset of prioritizing his clients’ agency. So, my siblings of marginalized genders: my experience of Irvin has been one of safety and nurturing the biomechanics of body healing that support gender euphoria. My fat and/or disabled and/or chronically ill siblings: my experience of Irvin has been one of safety and bringing ease and ability to the bodies we have, not the bodies most of the medical industry shames us for not having. My hypermobile siblings of variably overtight muscles and loosy-goosy joints: my experience of Irvin has been of his knowledge about the impact of EDS on the relationship between muscles and joints and nerves, on pain reactivity, on what to help release or strengthen to provide the kind of ease that leaves us more structurally sound instead of less. All in all, a stellar experience so far working on scar care and shoulder pain resulting from post-surgical maneuvering. I highly recommend his practice to others, especially those with whom I share the sorts of lived experiences I described above.

Irvin really helped me with pain and decreased ranging motion after an injury. After working with Irvin I have increased range of motion and decreased pain. Irvin is exceptionally good at what he does. He is an excellent communicator, and very knowledgeable. I always felt welcome and comfortable in his office.
