Riley ABA & Autism Center

As a pediatrician and mom of autistic toddler, I highly recommend this place. Not all ABA places are alike, it highly depends on the competence and flexibility of the BCBA you work with. When we first met Wendy Walker-the BCBA, we felt a sigh of relief, knowing that she is someone with a lot of experience and flexibility to adapt to the child’s pace and know each child’s needs. After working with her for almost a year, we believe that she is a rare gem of a behavioral analyst. She is very smart, up-to-date, and very intuitive to know which approach works best for each kid. She works closely with parents and provides insight to help parents become the best therapists for their children. She doesn’t continue an approach that is not leading to progress, so you know your child is not there wasting their time on therapy that doesn’t work. She is constantly assessing and reassessing your child’s response, not just when insurance asks for a report. She is also a wonderful and caring human being; she provided me with emotional support during tough times of grief, it meant the world to me as a new parent in the city with no friends or family. As an autism parent, you know you need your village, and community doesn’t always provide you with the right village who understand and don’t judge, so it’s very important to find the right ABA team for your child who are willing to be part to your village of support. As a healthcare worker, I know the difference between a healthcare worker who “clocks in and out” and another who truly loves what they are doing, and I can tell that Wendy and her team put their hearts and souls into these kids ♥️ My son progressed from not responding to name/not attending/10 word mands or requests to using sentences/responding to name/attending to people/waving/pointing and most recently fully potty-trained! His progress surpassed my expectations and none of this would have been possible without Ms.Wendy and her team ♥️ we call them family ❤️ I hope you get to call them family, too!

We’re fortunate to have our girls at Riley ABA for services. We have seen significant progress and it brings us joy to know the kids love it there. It’s their favorite place to be! We also love that Riley partners with Speech Therapist and Occupational Therapists to provide services in-house, it has been super convenient for our family. We love riley!!! My son has improved so much. Everyone there shows him so much love and support and everyday help improve his quality of life.

Upon receiving my son's Autism diagnosis, I wasn't exactly sure where to turn to. We live in the inner city, and upon doing some research found out that there aren't very many ABA/Autism Centers in the inner city, and every where I did call had a long waiting list before they could even get my son in. So I reached out to Riley, we happen to live in the neighborhood where Riley is located. Sara got us in right away for a tour and assessment in October but advised me that they probably wouldn't have space until the 1st of the year. However I received a call a few weeks later stating my son could start half days the second week of November. He has since started full days. The progress my son has made since starting at Riley has been amazing, and he loves it. Sara, Janet and all the Staff at Riley are amazing and have made this process a lot easier and less stressful. We are so thankful for Riley and I'm excited to see my son's continued progress at Riley.

Riley is the best place you could take your child. We have had so much progress with our son and I can see the progress other kids have made here. If your child is in need of ABA therapy, Riley is the place you need to call first. You would be missing out.
