Shephearst Meadows

While I dont want to minimize how bad I got while attending Shephearst and Meadows i do feel like it is imperative to make my experience known.. the staff? Lovely. Wonderful, caring and truly compassionate people. However I feel the need to express group setting and feeling like I have to say something in group despite the fact that alot of my issues stemmed from trust and abuse, was retraumatizing to say the least.. and they really really push you to share in group because "others might relate". My nightmares became unbearable and I didnt feel like I was being heard when I explained how deeply painful the nightmares and night terrors were. While I can say the staff is truly kind the program needs work. People shouldnt feel forced to share in a group, as this can actually be detrimental to patients like me. I have extreme mental health issues and heard wonderful healing stories about S&M.. I however was very disappointed in my plan of treatment when it came to groups. Individual therapy and needing extra support they were amazing with. But did not understand that debilitating social anxiety is one of the reasons I was there. And throwing me into a setting that triggered me daily, due to how strongly my social anxiety can dictate my actions, I did not feel like compassion was on their radar when basically hounding me to share my trauma. I am headed back to inpatient now due to how hard S&m pushed me. I hope if youre looking into this, weigh in the fact that even if you are uncomfortable, they will at some point pressure you to spill why, and even with it being in a controlled setting there, youre left to go home and deal with the reprocussions of how it affected you. It wasnt a horrible place because half of the situation was great, but it was very discouraging how hard I tanked in just a few short weeks.

Not caring or devoted staff. Yawning while in session, completely causing me to just shut down again, very disappointed with this so-called professionalism.

Shephearst Meadows is a SAFE place to heal. I have only had the best experience from the front staff to my counselor! I would recommend Shephearst Meadows to anyone needing a safe place for healing council. Thank you for all you have done for me and my healing journey!

Wow, I'm shocked at previous reviewers. I don't know their whole story, but I'll share mine. The office staff were kind, respectful, and knew me by name after the first week. The therapists I met with were professional, used up to date research and evidence based interventions. I had a miscommunication issue about money, and the director called me herself to make sure she understood my issue. She listened and understood. More than working out the money, she was safe and trustworthy to problem solve with. I would recommend the Shephearst experience to anyone.

Was the best decision I have ever made. The staff is caring and is honest. Just wish I was enough to experience this wonderful therapy again.

I’m writing this review to let everyone know what to expect from this place. My wife was referred to this place in order to further her growth in healing by someone that we both trust. We went to the first meeting and could not be more delighted for her get started here. We had some insurance issues to get worked out and were reassured that as soon as we got that straight she could get started. I gave them insurance info and waited for a call back. Needless to say but she didn’t get that call. My wife and I both thought this would be the best place to start a road to healing. We both thought this was a place that wanted to help women heal a place where my wife could find trust. I will not go into all the details as I should do but if you would like to know more just comment your email and I will be glad to give the full story. Hopefully this will sum it up. Front office could not be more disrespectful and inconsiderate. My thoughts nothing but a joke. I can say the counselor that we meet with was great. Unfortunately I will have to call into question even them with office staff like that. I can’t express into words the treatment that I have had there as a husband trying to help my wife on her road to healing. It’s almost reverse chauvinism like who was I but some man that wronged them. When all I was doing is trying in a very polite but firm manner how this is not the level of treatment we were expecting for close to a grand a week.
