Soma Therapy

Reception/administrative staff are rude and take days to reply IF they reply. Therapist and providers are great but the communication through receptionist is a joke. This place is a mess.

I absolutely love Laveta and she is amazing for my daughter and I. But ever since they switched to the new system it is impossible to get ahold of anyone! I missed a med appointment because I couldn’t get the new system figured out and was on hold for over an hour and left several messages with no response until almost 5. The appointment was at 9:45! I also stopped by to drop off my daughter’s adoption decree and updated insurance information and no one was in the office. I sent it via the portal and when I finally got someone on the phone they wanted me to email it. They even said they hadn’t checked the portal…Love Laveta, hate this new crap they have going on!

Laveta was extremely rude not only that but had my daughter on meds ment for young children for almost 4 years and after finally switching her i find out the meds were for children up to 7 and would have little to no effect on her so my kids been in mental anguish while I was promising the meds would work that weren't effecting her my daughter has had many suicide threats and all she had to say she doesn't know what she's saying instead of giving a suicide assement she dismissed her.

*NOT A RATING* This is not a rating because I havent been but the 1st 5 reviews in a span of 2 months are all 1 and negative. Something tells me its questionable.

My first therapy experience and I can only imagine I started at the wrong place. They give hardly any instruction at all to new patients so the first time there is very confusing. They also recently switched systems so they have been messing up appointments left and right. I have had 6 total appointments and half of them I have had an issue of my therapist not showing up due to scheduling errors or my name not being on the schedule. Now after figuring my way through their system I’m told that I have to switch therapists and start over because she is charging schedules. This place has given me more issues than it has done me any good. I would recommend literally anywhere else. They are also extremely hard to call for anything their phone system will hang up after 5 mins of waiting and you have to call again hoping you don’t lose your spot in line. I had to drive in while sick to cancel my appointment.

Incredibly disappointed with Soma's services. I have had ongoing issues with communication, including Soma straight up ghosting me for med management appointments and not communicating to reschedule. This has led to delays in filling prescriptions on their already tight refill schedule, and physical withdrawals, all while they do not respond to my or my pharmacy's requests. I have talked to multiple friends who have shared similar experiences and I am planning follow them in leaving soma as soon as I can find a provider accepting new patients. I loved the convenience when I first joined with them, but it has been atrocious to deal with them since then.

I do not recommend Soma. A few years ago I would have, but not today. Their service is awful, its almost impossible to reach them over the phone. It takes them days to reach back out, if they even do. I've had my Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner not show up for my appt which has delayed me from getting my meds refilled. They have no regard for their patients. If you value your mental health or want to learn to value your mental health, don't bother with Soma.

Tried to make an appointment with them multiple times with no success. Called three different times left 2 voicemail with no call back. They would send me a text saying they got my call but then when I would reply to the text it would go dead silent. Never got a follow up.

There's no recognizing Soma anymore. Therapists are leaving, staff is at dangerously low levels, and now they're firing literally the best patient care team I've ever encountered. Whatever choices or decisions are being made behind closed doors are directly impacting patient care. They let go three people who are integral in patient treatment, care, and ultimately their comfortability. Removing these three people who are essential to the psychiatric community, Soma has jeopardized patient health. We cannot depend that our relationships with providers will not be cut short. We cannot trust that the care we receive will be adequate in the future. Soma was a beacon of hope, a jewel of Wichita. And now it's a tarnished vessel of what it used to be.

Both of my kids highly enjoy coming to therapy every week. They actually bring up to us they can't wait until their next visit. Highly recommend to anyone that needs it.
