I would appreciate if you guys didn’t tell me 2-3 weeks and then take 2 months to call me. I understand that you don’t know exactly when due to waitlists and other factors, but communicate that to me next time.

Process of getting into.programs was fully lacking communication! I assured them I want to be in the summer program and they said we'd have a spot. They failed to keep me updated with any other details. When I called Tracy was very rude and didn't want to answer my questions and simply tried to tell me to go somewhere else. Im very defeated as we were very hopeful for this.

We had a child on the waiting list to be tested at this center for several years based on our pediatrician's recommendation. A few months ago the Sorenson Center contacted us and asked us if we were still interested in the testing and told us they were preparing their summer schedule. We verified codes and providers with insurance, told the Sorenson Center that we definitely wanted to proceed with testing, and even avoided other summer plans to make sure we would be available. Several months go by and I haven't heard any updates from them on scheduling. I contact the center and I'm told "Sorry, if you aren't already on the schedule then we won't be able to see your son this summer." They then provide me with a list of providers from all over Utah. We've waited years, done our part to be prepared, and they didn't have the courtesy to follow up after they finally reached out and indicated we'd be put on the summer schedule. Then they direct us elsewhere for services.

Low communication levels and a lack of responsibility and care for their patients. From my first day, the intake process was mishandled with unclear information about policies. The receptionist lacked empathy and failed to explain potential charges. They didn't take responsibility for checking my insurance eligibility or even provide me with the necessary codes, leaving me to figure it out on my own over a month. The professionals there are often students, busy with their own PhD processes and personal matters, which hinders their ability to properly focus on patient care. They often forgot details of my treatment or failed to engage unless I initiated the conversation. One therapist used inappropriate language during sessions. I was initially offered CBT, but the therapist missed several appointments due to personal reasons, often notifying me only at the last minute. When I decided to stop attending appointments, the clinic charged me for no-shows without proper notification or understanding of my situation. As an international student, I struggled with understanding all the procedures and responsibilities expected in America. I felt unsupported from the beginning, leading to unnecessary stress and charges for missed appointments. The clinic's lack of clear communication and responsibility is highly disappointing.

It is May. I put two of my children on the ados testing waiting list last fall (2022) and they told me they'd be able to see them this August(2023). I just called and was told that they no longer have that service. I don't think they were ever going to call me to tell me that. Grrr.

Overall the clinical experience at the Sorenson Center was fine, nothing better or worse than what was expected, but it took over a month for them to actually send me the documents I was promised a week after my last appointment, and then when they finally did "send" them, they weren't actually attached. There has been no real, proper communication.

USU, through the department of Human Development & Family Studies, is the only university in Utah with a Family Financial clinic that includes financial counseling, mortgage default counseling, first-time homebuyers counseling, and credit counseling services provided by students and accredited financial counselors and at to very little cost. They also offer workshops covering a wide range of family financial topics that are usually free to the public. Check them out! You won't regret it
