Sensory integration learning at its best. Thank you Dr. Virginia.

I've taken multiple courses with STAR and I've loved them all! Their honest, humble, and thorough approach to continuing education is greatly appreciated!

Working with Virginia has been wonderful. Not only does she possess all necessary knowledge and information to help our non-verbal autistic son, but her empathy and care for our son is clearly visible during our interactions. We are grateful to have her in our lives.

When you have an autistic non-speaking child with brain and body challenges, you need a lot of help and support from expert coaches whom you can trust to give you the tailored advice to support your dearest one I found STAR INSTITUTE to be such a center. From consultation to summits and conferences to coaching to referrals and suggestions , the staff have been exceptional. One other quality that I have observed in the INSTITUTE is research which gives the caregivers the opportunity to be in touch with the latest scientific developments on sensory, movement and brain/body integration

STAR Institute is one of the few places our family feels SEEN, SANE, and SAFE. STAR staff have supported us with sensory integration OT, parent coaching, tons of online learning, and their school readiness summer camp. Because they are at the forefront of sensory research, they have been able to identify some challenges for us that would most likely have been misunderstood/misdiagnosed for another decade anywhere else. How very fortunate we are to have a world leader in TRULY neuro-affirming sensory health right here in the Denver metro. (A mom visiting STAR from Canada literally reminded me how lucky we are!)

Unfortunately, this place is not what it used to be. The Star Center (what it was called years ago) used to be family and child focused. There were multidisciplinary teams that evaluated the whole child and built treatment plans. Now the focus is on classes for other professionals and training webinars. They used to employee SLPs, Psychologists, Social Workers, Nutritionists, ect…..not anymore. The staff turnover is outrageous. Such a shame because it was a wonderful place.

Getting in touch with someone who can answer basic questions about this facility, their services, and camps is very frustrating. I have completed all necessary paperwork and was told I would hear from someone within 5 days. It's been two weeks and no one has contacted me. I think more professionalism would greatly this agency's intake process.

We are lucky to have this gem in our back yards. Their online training and seminars are invaluable and inexpensive for non-professionals like me. I'm waiting for the day when Sensory Integration Intervention, an evidence based approach, gets into the schools!

We were reluctant to work with Star given that our insurance is not accepted there and the costs are significant. But we are so glad we took that chance. The team is incredibly knowledgeable and committed to supporting kids - and their families. Worth every penny.
