Step One Early Intervention

I appreciate the help and support my daughter got trough this program I want to share an incident from the last session that saw that provider NANI last year left me feeling uncomfortable regarding how the provider handled a situation. She mentioned that my daughter hit her with a toy, and because of this, the provider ended the session early. I was particularly upset because she raised her voice at my daughter in front of me, which I believe is neither appropriate nor professional. It’s important for my daughter to feel safe and supported during these sessions, and I did not feel that was the case. As a parent, I have always tried to be flexible and understanding with the providers, and my goal has been to work together in a positive way. I understand that everyone faces challenges, but I believe that intervention should be about providing support, especially when a child is showing difficult behaviors. I had to cancel the last 2 session because I didn't feel safe leaving my daughter with her and she ends up no showing up for last session by saying it's a lot of traffic and she will be late.

We’ve loved our time with step one. Our daughter received services for two years and enjoyed everyone we came into contact with especially Abby, Michelle, Colleen, and Li. We truly appreciate the love that was shown to our daughter through speech, OT, PT, and music therapy. We also loved our group class with Sue! So thankful for everyone here.

Not enough staff the children constantly miss appointments due to their therapist going on vacation or having time off and those sessions are never made up. They ignore the child’s doctor request and don’t comply with them. Please find another early intervention as this one doesn’t even follow state standards!

The best experience of my life, my autistic kid started at 15 months old, he left at 3 to continue with other therapist. The development he attained in step one was the solid foundation for his current performance, he is 5 yo and he is talkative, he interacts with other people, he is doing well at kindergarten. My eternal gratitude to step one and it wonderful staff, always caring, lovely, and helpful. Thanks Brenna, Libby, Jess, Diana, and all the Step One team!

Jane Schmidt was new when working with my daughter. She was amazing and made sure we always had all we needed when it came to my daughter's services! Definitely compassionate about her job!! Thanks Jane!!!!

Great program and wonderful staff. Early intervention is a great help for kids to come out of any speech or language difficulties. Our little one picked up language with the help of step one. Thank you staff of step one 🙏🏻🎉 can’t thank you enough!

Our family cannot say enough good about all of the professionals we encountered throughout the process and the services that were delivered to my Son. A plan was made, implemented, and services were delivered promptly,starting 6 months to 3 yrs . As a result, I am happy to report that our son is doing well and has shown tremendous progress in all areas of development. Thank you, for offering such a great program to children and families across our state.
