Sunrise Bay Speech Therapy

We are incredibly grateful for the tremendous progress that our daughter has made under the care of Janice. Our daughter was diagnosed with expressive language delay (her receptive language skills were normal) at 19 months old. At the beginning of the therapy, she was able to say only about 10 words. Janice encouraged her to mimic more sounds through fun and engaging games. This approach was really effective. Our daughter soon started making more sounds during play, and her attention span greatly improved as well. She always had some new words when working with Janice. The way Janice taught was scientific, yet play-based and encouraging. She understood what our kid thought and wanted. I love that she summarized strategies for parents at the end of each session - she explained not only what we could do but also why. In about two months, our daughter's vocabulary expansion accelerated. Her daycare teachers noted that she was talking much more than before. Janice is also very caring and friendly. Our daughter has always been excited to see her, and mentions her name (she refers to Janice as "jiji") multiple times a day. At 23 months old, our daughter already had more than 300 words, and was able to say many phrases and even some full sentences. She graduated right before turning 2. This amazing journey could not have happened without Janice's help and guidance. We highly recommend Janice to any kid like ours and their family.

Janice has been seeing our son for the past three years since he was 3yrs old, and we absolutely love working with her! She is super kid-friendly, truly caring, supportive and very knowledgeable. We appreciate her summaries and tips at the end of each session on how we can practice language skills with our son. We also love how she applies his speech sessions to his everyday school and social situations through books, drawings and fun games. She understands our son like family, and our son is always excited to see her. We would definitely recommend Janice to anyone looking for a SLP!

Over the past year Ms. Janice helped our twin boys fix multiple issues they had in speech. The boys really liked the way she taught, which was through games and having fun. One of our twins still needs some work and we would love to work with Ms. Janice again in a perhaps 4 to 6 months after the summer and a little break.

My daughter is diagnosed with speech and language delay at 3 yo, and because we are bilingual in Cantonese and English, I wanted a bilingual SLP for her language needs too. We have gone thru 3 different SLPs that are in network for my insurance but no one does it like Janice. Janice is very caring and loving—she works with my daughter’s pace and knows what’s the best technique for her without “pressuring” her to meet the speech goals. Janice makes the sessions super fun, engaging, and encouraging for my daughter; she also shares tips and tricks after each session for us to practice at home! Janice deserves more than 5 stars and she’s truly the BEST speech therapist you can find in the SF Peninsula area. I highly recommend Janice especially if you’re looking for a Cantonese/English SLP!
