Teacch has been an amazing resource for our family. Everyone we have worked with here has been a huge help with our medical needs.

After sending all the documentation and my doctor referred me, they say they never got the referral and I sent it email or on their web site and they said they only take by mail, fax, or walk in, so they told me that wrong too. Then she said I could call the other offices but then didn’t want to give them all to me but finally did. And now they say they can’t see me because I don’t have an early reporter. I am upset and I won’t ever have anything good to ever say about this place again. I think they lie a lot to get their way!

They never answer the phone. They never return messages. My referral was submitted almost 1 1/2 years ago - I had to drive there to verify they received it because again they won't answer the phone or return messages - and I still haven't heard back from them. Edited December 2023 - It's been over 2.5 years since they received my referral and I have yet to hear back from them. When I reached out to them last year, I was told adults on the autism spectrum were not a priority for them. Guess I'll keep waiting. Edited October 2024 (after Hurricane Helene) - It’s been 4 years since they received my referral and I still haven’t heard back from them. Thankfully Grandis Evaluation Center is testing adults and they finally take my insurance. After a 5 hour test that was thorough and in-depth with their trained psychologist (he might actually be a psychiatrist), I finally have the answers I’ve been waiting for. As for Asheville TEACCH, I’ll keep updating this review until I hear for them but I’m really hoping they either get closed down or new employees are brought in. They’re showing up as an autism resource when they’re not one, which is detrimental to the autism community.

The team at the Asheville TEACCH center is highly experienced, knowledgeable and compassionate. The TEACCH model, which focuses on supporting an individual's learning style and modifying approaches and the environment to help set them and their families up for success, was exactly what we needed. I couldn't be happier and highly recommend for testing and therapy resources.

The TEACCH Center is an extraordinary resource for families and kids. From our first encounter, we found a welcoming reception from staff, especially the incredible Chandra in the front office who endeavors to make all patients and visitors feel right at home. We received tremendous guidance from the clinical team and learned heaps of helpful information before and during our visits to the center. I was quite impressed with Dr. Van Bourgondien, who conducted my parent-only telehealth interview ahead of our son's diagnostic assessment. She was professional, kind, informative, and patient, and graciously rephrased her questions if I needed additional clarity about their wording. Dr. Dawkins is phenomenal in her role as Clinical Director, never using confusing medical jargon to discuss findings. She gave us peace of mind and loaded us up with numerous resources in our current county and in the one we will soon be relocating. She is absolutely perfect for the position she holds and represents the center so well! Alexis treated our son with exceptional dignity and kindness, interacting with him in a way that instantly put him at ease. She is an asset to the clinic, and her presence was the perfect complement to Dr. Dawkins' during our assessment. We are so grateful to the TEACCH Center for giving us a great start on our ASD journey.

Love everyone here

The only thing they do here are evaluations and the waitlist is 10-12 months! They advertise group therapy, social skills, and other services but it's a joke and they need to redo the website to we'll see your kid in a year then your on your own
