After waiting over a year on the waitlist, we got a call yesterday to bump up our appointment from April 23rd to this morning at 8am. This morning, we got an evaluation for my 4 year old, nonverbal son. The staff was so nice, and not even 5 minutes after we checked in, we got called back. The nurse took my son's vitals. My son was crying, but the nurse was so kind and very patient. After she got us into our room, a very sweet dr by the name of Dr. Steven Lazar came in, introduced himself to us, and my son was already crying, but he calmed down after a few minutes. His colleagues (2 ladies) came in and 1 talked to my boyfriend and the other talked to Solomon and myself. After about an hour, they came to the conclusion that my son does indeed have autism. We are so thankful for the staff, nurses, and Dr. Lazar. We will return in a couple of months.
This office they are amazing i recommend this 100%
My son finally had his visit today after a 2 year wait list! I was nervous because a lot of these reviews were horrible. But the staff and doctors were wonderful! The parking lot had an officer (or security guard?) who directed me to the proper parking spaces. Entrance had someone also greet me. The receptionist was very polite. The doctor we saw was very patient with my son. The counselor was amazing in giving me all the resources I needed for his diagnosis. (I honestly have been pro active and got most of the resources he needed on my own while we waited.) And the nurse even offered my son a snack to calm him. On my way out another child saw my sons snack and I felt guilty but the receptionist was quick to call out to the mom and offer him a snack also! Let me also tell you. The wait list is crazy. I got a call about 6 months ago that an appointment was finally open and we took it. This appointment would have been amazing to have had when we first got the diagnosis 2 years ago for my son. But overall I left happy about how the visit turned out!
Extremely disorganized place. My son's appointments were rescheduled multiple times last minute, one time I wasn't even told until we arrived. Only one Dr is actually covered by our insurance, but even though we repeatedly told them this they would often switch Dr's after we had arrived. Would not ever recommend, and I had heard Texas Children's Hospitals were supposed to be the best.
this clinic is racist and discriminated to the minority if that was not only me, filled form online, called them, they say it doesn't count after half years. So I filled paper form, and faxed all the paper from its own hospital department, it clearly shows faxed since it is double page document, and after a week, call them, they claim we may faxed blank page, how is it possible. So I have been advised by the staffs from hospital, to bring all the papers personally over to their clinic. Why I should do such way and have my son wait for 12 - 18 months for a clinic with such discriminated attitude. If this is the attitude how we treat minor disregard where we are come from, this country has no hope. Very disappointed . And the people work over there, the administrator and executives from Texas children's hospital should be ashamed.
My non verbal intellectually disabled nephew was treated awful by the doctor. They stopped him cold turkey on his medication then avoided calls from my neice about her son. They put a 6 year old disabled child in a medication emergency and then avoided helping. He had to be checked out of school because of the actions of this center. As of today it has been over a month and still nothing from the doctor. Please be cautious when taking your child here. Staff is unfriendly. Not willing to help with issues.
