The Behavioral Effect

We have been attending OT, SPEECH and ABA therapy for 2 years and the improvement on my boy has surpassed our expectations

My daughter has been attending the clinic for two years. We are very happy to find a clinic that can provide services in Spanish. My daughter quickly learned to communicate with her iPad. The therapists and BCBAs have worked with our schedule so they could come to our home and teach us how to add buttons and use the iPad. Now that my daughter's behaviors have been controlled, we are very happy to be able to go out into the community as a family! Thank you so much for everything you do for our family.

Service benefits were readily evident early on. I am not sure if due to natural progression and increasing difficulty or if high turnover in staff slowed my child’s progress. New environments and even new therapists mean testing new boundaries for this individual and it did not help that I was given a revolving door of therapists, many not to be seen after a week or two. This would mean wasted time by patients seeking to test and set new boundaries and expand already existing ones in place of mastering goals. Despite sticking through the rough patch BE was going through, even as other parents expressed displeasure, I kept my child here. As BE got new patients in, they became more aggressive with new parents. Despite having provable medical need for absences (notification given in all but one emergency case), BE decided we are not good enough customers and decided to let us go. There was one other easily resolvable issue but it was decided by administration to cut our services just as we are reaching our deductible and insurance is/was to take over 100%. This says something about how they feel about the patient. It should be noted that despite having a designated time, we were regularly made to wait until very recently where a complaint call was made. Be advised that HIPPA violations, in my experience at BE, are commonplace. I was sent video of the wrong patient on more than one occasion and can only wonder if video recording of my child was forwarded elsewhere. Further, there were several instances where I, along with what I can only assume is many other parents(text message chain), were included in conversations that were absolutely none of our business.

We are so thankful for The Behavioral Effect. BCBA Valerie has been a blessing sent to our lives. It’s amazing to see our daughter excited and ready for therapy each day!

. There are so many misconceptions about aba therapy, but what fails to be emphasized is that aba is based around the individual for THEIR Individual goals and needs. The approach is different for every child and they have done tremendous work for my son. They have helped him verbally, socially, with his daily life skills, and have gone out of their way to visit with his teacher at school to help her understand functions of behavior that the teacher then utilized in the classroom-for not only my son, but for other students as well. We are very thankful to have Sara and her team in our lives to help us grow closer as a family and help our son to his fullest potential. Parent training, social skills, and group training is also provided here. For anyone that is wondering if aba is for them, I strongly recommend the behavioral effect because they truly care about the kids.
