The toys used during the evaluation are dated and not the best in my opinion. The facility was nice though.

Unacceptable Refusal of Care and Communication: Really Wish I could put 0 stars on here. I am extremely disappointed with the experience at this mental therapy center. My young son was in need of care, yet the staff repeatedly refused to schedule an appointment for him. On top of that, my questions about their policies and process went unanswered, leaving me with no clarity and no support. As a parent seeking help for a child’s mental health, I expected professionalism, compassion, and a willingness to guide us through the steps. Instead, we were met with avoidance and a lack of basic communication. Mental health care should be accessible, especially for children in need. I hope this review prompts the management to address these serious shortcomings so no other family has to face the same neglect.

I walked into the building today for the first time to ask questions about some paperwork I needed to turn in. As I entered, the first person I encountered was a Black man sitting in the waiting area, possibly security. I approached him to explain why I was there and pointed to the section of the paperwork I was confused about. Instead of offering help or calmly directing me, he cut me off and told me to “wait” and “sign in” in a tone that felt impatient and annoyed. I wasn’t aware he wasn’t the person to ask, but if you’re the first face someone sees upon entering, people are naturally going to look to you for direction. First impressions matter, and in a professional setting, especially with new visitors, it’s important to have a welcoming and respectful demeanor.

My son was bitten by another child and apparently this child is a serial biter. I pulled my son out of the core program for his safety. CFA needs to reevaluate their protocols when it comes to children who need more help than what they offer. This child should have been discharged from program. All they did was an incident report that made it seem my child was at fault for getting attacked because he had a toy the biter wanted. The person that saw the incident failed my child as she saw the entire thing unfold yet did nothing to intervene. CFA failed to protect my child and that is unforgivable and unacceptable. They could not even guarantee that it wouldn’t happen again because they did not reprimand this other child . I will be talking to a lawyer because this will not be swept under the rug and they will be held accountable.

Given the other reviews I saw for adult women seeking an assessment here, I was concerned, but I had an overall positive experience. I was listened to by both my intake interviewer and my assessing doctor. My 12-page self-written report was incorporated into their assessment and final report and diagnosis. I did think the in-person assessment was more suited for children; but I think that signifies a lack of progressiveness in the medical perception of autism generally. My report did take quite a while to get to me, and the communication could have been better (I checked with non-autistic people I know, and they said my emails were reasonable and not too frequent, and that The Center for Autism should have replied more often). There are also spelling mistakes and incorrect names and pronouns in my report.

One of the best programs. My son is autistic and he been going there since he was 2 years old now he's 5yrs old. He was non verbal and the team worked so hard and he can say a lot more words. When accidents happen they will quickly call you to inform you and send out a incident report. The staff are amazing. My son absolutely loves it. I'm currently heart broken since he will now be going to kindergarten and no longer going to go to the program but definitely the best center for autistic kids. Thank you Ashley, Raven, Jazz, Rain, Katie, Jocelyn, Shaun'le, Ryan and everyone who worked with Javii. 5 star team.

They said that they would call back in 60 to 90 days. It's been 120, and I called them to find out what was going on, and they want to offer an appointment two months from now. At no point did they say that I might be waiting 6 months from the initial consultation to have any real outcome. Should have gone with a different business. Update: I tried to shop around with other businesses, and no one has any openings until next year, so they've got me over a barrel here. I wound up having to call this place back, and was given an even later appointment than when I last called. I don't have a choice.

Very confusing to find the right place. There are, as it turns out, two centers for autism in PA-- one on 2801 Grant Ave and one at 4601 Market Street--and they didn't tell me which one to go to, so I missed my appointment. Also, despite saying they screen adults, the testing is designed for children, so a lot of the questions and activities were largely dependent on symptoms a child would have, without taking into consideration the fact that someone undiagnosed in their 20s would act differently. Overall its probably great for children, but I wouldn't go back.

My son attended this school years ago as a toddler and it made such a huge positive impact on our lives. It was the first time I felt truly heard & supported. I was taught so much that helped me to truly understand my child & to be able to help him. The Center for Autism made me look at ABA in a whole new light because of what they were able to for my child. I haven’t found anything comparable since & continue to rave about them!
