A school for autism and denys a child on the spectrum an education. You all should be ashamed of yourselves.

A long time ago, when I was struggling with my daughter, who is on the spectrum, I came to this place. While there, she had a meltdown. Of course, she was very loud. She was around 7 or 8 at the time and they made me feel so bad. They had no patience; only looked at us as if we were beneath them. I don't know if it was race or class. At the time, I was upper middle class and a healthcare professional but I think they assumed based on my brown skin that I was some indigent poor local single black woman with a child, with whom they didn't want to be bothered. I never went back there. Instead, I retired, went back to URI to study Psychology, graduated and worked with my daughter, all by myself. She's going to be 16 years old soon. She's come a long way, although there's still a long way to go. I wouldn't recommend this place for regular nonwhite parents with children on the spectrum. It's probably best for the physicians who bring their children there and the tokens that they allow in their midst.

For special needs children, it's an amazing school. The staff is incredible and so helpful, and they know what they are doing. Such amazing individuals. Highly recommend if you have a child in need of service. They go above and beyond, and I am so grateful to them all! 💓

I like how the workers blast their music during shift changes (no one who actually resides on the street does it) Even though there is a huge drive way they park on street for 14 he shifts, properly inconveniencing the people who pay taxes and may need to park outside their own house. Try and complain to the money hungry wieners they say they’ll fix it. Yeah and they smoke weed, great way to show attention to people with disabilities.

My experience at the school has been a great one. My son has been attending there since 2013 and is now 15. Even though we are now navigating high school/adult prep for our son and trying to figure out what that will mean for him & where, I am still very grateful for Groden and the care they have given my son up until this time. Their staff that work with the kids everyday are great and care a lot for the kids.

My son has been attending school at that Groden Center since he was 3, he is now 15. I can honestly say that I don't know where we would be without them. They have helped us through some of our most difficult times and celebrated milestones with us. They are always there to answer our questions and our concerns. We are very fortunate to have them as part of our "family".
